@swyx Moving from Webpack 3 to 4. The API change from CommonsChunkPlugin to optimization.splitChunks was super confusing. I wish there was a codemod for that.

@wongmjane There’s a really amazing Nova episode on London’s Crossrail line from 2016. They burrow through existing in-use stations and underneath historical landmarks. Laser levels are used above ground to detect any shifting in the old buildings. pbs.org/wgbh/nova/vide…

It still blows my mind how they’re able to expand Admiralty Station *downward* to serve two additional lines, totaling in four lines on top of one another vertically, while the station is surrounded by skyscrapers 🤯 The construction must’ve been so delicate

@brennx0r New Paltz and Kingston are both great. New Paltz has the state college so there’s good energy. Kingston is going through a lot of change right now for better or worse, but there are a lot of amazing people up here. Both are around 2 hours from the city.

@sarah_edo I usually just hang up and re-join afterwards, most people just think I lost my connection.

Situation: you’re in a largish meeting (20+ people) on mute with your camera off and you have to use the bathroom. It’s not clear if they will need your input, probably not. Do you (poll)

@housecor I also love Conventional Commits, so much so that I wrote a gist to load them into GitHub Saved Replies. It also adds hidden descriptions on how to use out each one once chosen. It makes it a lot easily to use. gist.github.com/ifyoumakeit/41…

A little code review habit I appreciate: When my teammates make a minor suggestion, they often prefix it with "Nit:" It's a short, polite way to say "I know this is minor, but I suggest changing this." Useful for misspellings, typos, naming suggestions, etc

so, they made a prequel to orphan, a movie about an adult pretending to be a child, played by a child in the movie. in the prequel, the same actor, now an adult, is playing an adult pretending to be a child and I don't know it's all weird.
