@skooookum Even the real answer that pretty terrifying, because it’s literally cosmic rays hitting the brain of the astronaut and causing them to see things as the ray shreds the neurons in its path. Basically causes super cancer and reduced brain mass if you’re in space too long

@swamp_ist @CSandbatch Gen Jim Mattis was single his entire life and made it all the way to 4 stars and being the SecDef for a bit. If anything the military likes dudes that are single with no kids because they know you have no other obligations outside of the service and will squeeze you dry
English

@CSandbatch The military won’t promote you if you don’t have a wife and you’re an officer
English

This is probably great advice actually. Any man over 25 without a gf/wife is treated substantially differently in every single domain imaginable except probably the military.

my most contrarian belier is that as an early stage startup founder the best thing you can do is get into a relationship

@_Sozyko_ @knight_rider420 Negative pull ups are your friend here. Do those until your good to do 1 pull-up and keep going from there. I started the year with negative pull ups, and now I'm able to do 8-10 as a 200lb dude
English

@knight_rider420 Bro forgot the part where I need to be strong enough to do those

@Icekiller369 @SalvadorMu33717 @Ejmiller25 @KurtSchlichter Not really nowadays. If you go to the Academy or do ROTC you can get a pilot slot with 0 hours. OTS is much harder but possible still. The Navy though will take 0 hour dudes guaranteed with a high enough GPA and ASTB score since their pilots keep retiring.
English

@SalvadorMu33717 @Ejmiller25 @KurtSchlichter and then money to fund a ppl and hundreds of flight hours before you commission

American fighter pilots come from upper middle class to rich families fwiw.

In Israel half the parliament has children in the army and/or family on the battlefield. The prime minister is a bereaved brother and former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot lost his youngest son and two nephews during the war he helped prosecute after October 7.

@Doppelsoeldner @OkNameChecksOut @chrisschmitz @andynovy The fact the IRGC hasn’t posted a single picture of a dead or captured pilot when it would be very beneficial for the mullah’s propaganda means the rescue mission was a success
English

That location confirmed by @andynovy is just 50km from the City Centre of Isfahan, a city with about 2.2m Inhabitants.
The IRGC cant prevent an enemy ad-hoc Airfield half an hour drive from one of the largest cities in country.

@ErnestLemingway @cirnosad It’s a two part problem. The metal leading edge of the blade is melted and deformed but you can see the composite blade is frayed and delaminated behind the metal edge.
English

@juuceboxx @cirnosad Composite blades do not melt and deform. They delaminate. You can look at wind turbine fires to see this. This said, looking at how they bend in different directions I'm inclined to believe that the impact deformation assumption is incorrect.
English

Anyone with a modicum understanding of physics knows this is a crash. Look at the angular bend on the propellers.
This aircraft was shot down. The proximity of the helicopter parts indicate that it was shot down as a unit.
This was a mass casualty event for AFSOC. Disaster.

@cirnosad Who can look at this picture and tell me why it debunks that the US blew its own plane up?
English

@FZaslavskiy @visionergeo The troops came back which is what matters. We can always rebuild the airplanes, the factory line for those are still running
English

@visionergeo Except one little hiccup none of the aircraft made it back it seems.
English

@CEOofFuggy @GansoConABomba You’re not gonna believe this but there is actually a third sect in Oman only

English

@SE88668164 @AuroraIntel @SR_Planespotter I know, I just used this image to demonstrate what happens to a composite propeller blade in an impact. The blades on the C-130 wreckage are bent, not broken meaning there wasn’t an impact with the ground since composite would not have survived in one piece
English

@DanWantsJustice @AuroraIntel Composite blades don’t bend on impact, they snap like this. The bending comes from the heat of the planes getting self-destructed.

English

@AuroraIntel Explain why two of the propellers are bent clockwise on the end. They were spinning and hit the ground.
English

@mattydunk1988 @cirnosad You’re an idiot, the C-130 uses composite blade propellers which will snap like a twig on impact like this one. The curling is because the composite blades melted from the aircraft being destroyed while it was parked. If it actually crashed there’d be a debris field but it didn’t

English

@cirnosad Who can look at this picture and tell me why it debunks that the US blew its own plane up?

The MC-130J Commando II before and after entering Iran.
"Muh Air Supremacy"
This is the threshold for Amerimutt boomeroids to jump up and down jiggling their distended beer bellies in excitement. "We finally defeated Iran!!!"
I almost pity them. They took the bait.
Unit cost of the older F15E is US$65 Million
Training cost of the pilot and copilot? US$22 Million
vs
---
Unit cost of the MC130J is US$114 Million * 2 for each
Unit cost of the HH60G is US$288 * 4 between damaged and destroyed
A-10 -- irreplaceable
Modern F16 - US$100 Million
And I haven't included the cost of all the commandos who were killed or wounded in this mission.
All to fetch some headlines. Pathetic.

English

@11BrahmAstra11 @cirnosad Those blades are composite, they don’t bend on impact. This plane was destroyed when parked
English

@cirnosad Exactly - site shows propeller and helicopter rotors "powered down" but still rotating during crash.
If the fake narrative were true a la "they were intentionally destroyed", we would see parts shattered into much smaller pieces and spread radiating from impact point.
