Kaspa - On the cusp of global adoption At 100ms/10 BPS $kas is close to L1 perfection. 100 BPS (10ms) is possible but the number of collisions increases. Although Kaspa can handle higher block rates with its DAG structure while staying feasible, a testnet with a lot of geographically spread nodes should be performance-tested carefully. Also, node requirements rise, which increases centralization. That being said, Kaspa is still absolutely brilliant. The only thing it needs is more usage. And honestly, that's a good hurdle to have. We need to keep motivated and build the community through the bear market. It is pretty mind-blowing how much we have grown so far, and right now we are a strong community, as can be measured by CMC sentiment and Binance awards etc. We are closing in on the breakout point to world-class status. Exit to Kaspa L1 (aka iKAS unwrapping) is live. Anyone can send iKAS on Igra to the KasExitBridge smart contract (explorer.igralabs.com/address/0x00d3…) to receive KAS on L1 at their designated address. Parameters for the initial rollout: - Rate limit: 20 withdrawals per 2^16 blocks (~24 hours) - Minimum: 1000 iKAS (dust would congest the Kaspa-side release pipeline) - Maximum: 50000 iKAS - Processing: typically within 72 hours These conservative limits exist since the bridge is currently secured by federated multi-sig and each outgoing transaction is semi-manually reviewed as part of operational risk controls during the initial rollout. We're optimizing for zero loss of funds over speed. Process is conducted by a designated operations group, consisting of experienced ecosystem contributors familiar to the Igra team. Processing typically completes within 72 hours and may take longer in exceptional cases. Transfer of exit bridge contract ownership and control to the Igra DAO has been proposed for DAO voting. I had to face it... To keep growing here I would have to do anything for attention just to make you stop and listen. That broke something in me for a while. Now I am on the other side of it, I create with meaning and for the people who dare to think for themselves.

Censoring Kaspa transactions is not possible, since you can always run a node, send your transaction to it and mine the transaction yourself. Since you are now using your own block template, your transaction will eventually be included. @w_s_bitcoin stands corrected (and silent).

A node’s tx selection logic is weighted random. For the scenario you’re describing to occur, such players would have to alter their nodes to select txs differently (max fees first). Even then, low fee txs will still be mined due to there being miners who just use the default selection mechanism. The max-fee’s first strategy is inferior to the weighted tx random one in the context of kas since max-fee first increases the chance of selection collision. Say miner A and B block mine blocks that include tx_max, only one of those miners will receive the fee for that tx + subsidy, whereas the other miner only receives subsidy.

Does $KAS have a design that forces it to not scale in a censorship resistant way? I'm not getting a satisfactory response from wicked and want to explore his claims in more detail.. (Asking to learn)

As I understood, there is an incentive on the protocol level to encourage random block templates.

Block template creation is dependent on a node. So a solo miner depends solely on their own node’s template and pov. Unless you’re connecting with very slow internet (slower than what the network expects), GD/DK makes it so your mined blocks are added in the blue set and therefore rewarded.

Anyone can run a node and anyone can solo mine **with consistency in rewards**. Due to the high block rate, there’s lower variance (aka. better consistency) in the interval for rewards for a solo miner. See: x.com/coderofstuff_/… Now, think about it: is a system that allows for consistent solo mining more decentralized or centralized?

That's why Kaspa penalizes non random block templates. Random templates have an exponentially larger chance of receiving the coinbase because they avoid block collisions (blue blocks). The only blocks that Ghostdag explicitly orders are blocks which are precisely minded at the same time and therefore conflicting. Conflicting blocks get included into the DAG but don't receive the coinbase reward (red blocks). It's a losing game because your are spending time mining with a centralized template and not getting paid for it.

@realvijayk It’s faster throughput plus any real adoption would lead to completely centralized template creation, which makes it ripe for censorship. It’s a shame y’all will never get the adoption needed to test that though.

Hi guys. To my friends in the Bitcoin and Kaspa communities this will be my last post. 4 days ago I made the biggest mistake of my life and lost 2.85M KAS and 0.5 BTC on my Tangem wallet. I attempted to remove one card and add a ring in its place. After it deleted card #1 it said to scan #2. Whether I was rushing or didn’t read it correctly I don’t know, but in my mind it was asking me to scan #2 to confirm the deletion of #1. But what I actually did was delete cards 1 and 2. I have one card left and the passcode I have written down for #3 is not working. I’m not sure if the app is somehow glitched or what, but everything I’ve worked towards for the last three years is gone. And I can’t be on this app anymore and interact with all of you guys without breaking down emotionally and mentally. To Yonatan, Michael, Shai, Coder, Ori and everyone else who is building, contributing to, or has contributed to Kaspa in the past, thank you for the educational content you guys have made through talks and workshops on YouTube about cryptography. I have learned so much because of you guys and I’m eternally grateful for it all. To my friends on here….Onion, Vjay, Gonzo, Juan, Wolfie, BTC teacher, Kaspa Facts, and a thousand more of you… I’m going to miss hanging out in spaces with you guys and tweeting funny and unhinged shit all day long. It has truly been the highlight of my life to be here talking with all of you. To all the people building, experimenting, and coding on $KAS keep up the great work and change the world with some killer applications and use cases. To Tangem….I accept responsibility for the mistakes I made deleting my wallets. But it’s simply unconscionable that when I scan card #1 and view the settings for only that card, that there’s no explicit safeguards for when you’re affecting other cards. Maybe there are and I’m just acting irrationally. Either way I hope you guys change your SOP for deleting wallets. It was way too easy for me to delete mine. I’ve been on this app in this space since early 2023 preaching the good word of Kaspa and in the end it didn’t matter and I lost it all. I simply cannot be apart of this community anymore because it hurts too much to even think about how much I’ve lost. The daunting task of trying to accumulate almost 3M coins is simply too much for my heart to bare. Again, thank you to everyone for all the laughs but the spark is gone my life is simply not worth living anymore. -brt
