@FLAGSHIPBREWERY Love your Kölsch, but a ton of your cans are are arriving in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, at a local bar, with a third of the can empty? Just a note :)

Cloth seats on rapid transit, common in US systems developed in the late 20th century, are a great example of elite projection. Designed to look nice to imagined "choice riders", they were too expensive to clean and maintain. 1/
Sound Transit - 🚆 🚈 🚍@SoundTransit

Rider feedback → real changes. 2,300+ passengers helped inform our decision to replace cloth seats with vinyl on Link trains—rated higher for cleanliness, comfort, and satisfaction. More vinyl seats are rolling out over the coming months. 🚆 Read more: ow.ly/e6YB50XWgK0

@AirlineFlyer @NYCTSubway @JFKairport Amazing! Also, isn’t that wall behind the sign from the 2000-2003 complete station overhaul in prep for the AirTrain? So if this sign is truly from the 90s they must have saved it and reinstalled it at some point.

@SyracuseAirport FYI, it looks like you have to be a paying member of X to use DMs when the other party (you) isn’t following you too! Thus I think you might not get a ton of responses. Love the idea though.

What’s with the @WNYC ads in the train and on the platforms @MTA? I guess if we have to have ads I’m OK hearing @BrianLehrer but I fear this is a slippery slope!

@Park_Committee @AirlineFlyer @Amtrak There really should be a Plan B to get to EWR via rail. Like how at JFK you have LIRR AND subway. I was going from NYP to EWR station on a Friday and was starting to stress because NJ transit was suspended, but got lucky as the trains were starting up again. PATH should go there

@13WHAM Main precaution seems to be that when a fully-gassed jet, ready for a transatlantic voyage, has to land that early, it’ll be overweight and can burn out/overheat the brakes. Landed safely though and the SYR departure monitor says the replacement jet will leave ~1:30am.

@marcin698601 @n_laguardia @travis_robert @NYCTSubway @MTA A few months ago the metal columns on the northern active platform were repainted in very dark green and lighting was dramatically improved on both active platforms. This happened a few weeks after they put up signs for "re-new-vaction".

@mark_mackillop Greenpoint, Brooklyn (outside): Power flicker and didn’t hear the boom (faintly) until about 10 seconds later, so it was likely pretty far away from me.

Why don’t we have coffeeshops on the platforms of subways? A newspaper stand is okay today. Safety, sanitation, space, demand?

@FlyTPA Just some feedback that the new ride app pickup on the blue side is rather confusing. Makes no sense to go downstairs to get a bag and then go up two levels again.

@c0uldntresist @urbenist Yeah, my first thought was Vienna as well. But, due to its regulation upstream, it’s a tiny creek 95% of the time.

@lowete @YAppelbaum That has to do with its state treaty of 1955, when the Soviets agreed to move out. Stipulation was that Austria had to be neutral and couldn't join NATO.

My housing tour of Vienna began in a cab. We told the delighted driver that we were going to see the apartment where my wife's grandparents had lived. "Oh?" he asked. "How long ago did they leave?" 1938. The smile vanished. "I thought you said they were Austrian." Silence.
