Heading into 2026, gameplan looks the same as we close out the year, jobs not finished scale pixelorb, continue forming relationships with high ticket clients, build family personally and professionally, and continue to post cool shit what should I post more about? Something I had to realize the hard way is that early on, clients don’t just “show up”. You have to go find them. Actively pursuing clients is what builds the experience, trust, and momentum that later turns into inbound work. Until then: show up, help, pitch, and deliver. Luckily, I’m realizing this sooner than later.

How long have you been designing?

Clients usually want what you’ve already made. The work we create on our own will guide the projects people commission from us later. So, keep that in mind, because clients tend to respond to creators who love their work.

@kmsap2 The most important thing that we usually don't notice is creativity is in consuming less and creating more. You can be more creative if you just stare at a blank wall while thinking than being surrounded by hundreds of visual Elements. So, stop consuming and start creating.

The most transformative creative breakthroughs often emerge from the simplest, most unremarkable moments in life. Pay attention to the mundane details surrounding you.

I know that as designers, we love our profession so much that we would do it without getting paid if we could afford to. But this starving-artist syndrome is why we are paid so little. Those who earn a lot in this field do so because they understand the value of their work and how to charge for it. Unfortunately, most of us aren’t taught how to value our work or how to earn a living from it.

@kmsap2 right on! less about hunting for the new and more about listening for what’s already whispering at the edges of perception, then having the courage to follow it without a map.

I believe it is impossible to force creativity. Creativity is something that already exists, something that calls out for your attention. To let it in, you must remove the mental barriers that prevent you from accessing it.
