Few things illustrate the idiocy of central planning as well as the mad story of Ubre Blanca, Fidel Castro’s super-cow. Castro, strangely fascinated by dairy, made it his personal mission to increase milk production by embarking on a cross-breeding program and ordering his state scientists to genetically engineer a super-cow capable of producing multiple times the amount of milk of ordinary, capitalist cows. His grand vison was for 100s of 1000s of super-cows lavishing his communist island with fresh dairy products. It was from this state-run breeding programme that the prodigious Ubre Blanca emerged. It’s breath-taking milk production captivated Castro and she was treated like royalty, housed in an air-conditioned stable and catered for by 24-hour staff, who played soothing music during milking sessions. Castro started to extrapolate: “If in 1970 we have approximately 400,000 cows, in 1971, they will multiply to nearly one million more.” But despite Soviet support for the project, the hoped-for exponential growth in super-bovines never materialised. Ubre Blanca was the first – and last – of its kind. Much worse, the cross breeding program, involving large scale confiscation of cattle from private farmers, led to a collapse of the once thriving Cuban beef and dairy industry. Form the mid-60s, milk has been rationed in Cuba and primarily reserved for small children. In 1993, Castro’s made one last futile attempt at revolutionizing dairy production. Inspired by the Jurassic Park movie, a plan to clone DNA from the late super cow sadly also ended in failure. The fiasco reads like a comedy, but it illustrates the disastrous effects of central planning: misallocation of capital, waste, unaccountability. Economic decisions should be guided by market prices and made in competition between the people who put up the resources, not by ideologues pursuing political goals. This is much more than theory. To this day, the Cuban people continue to suffer from the folly of their leader’s decision to meddle in an industry he and his bureaucrats had no way of understanding.

A pacific palisades fire victim named Sue Pascoe started her own investigation after the $100 million dollars in donation money from the FireAid concert ‘went missing’ She personally called all the NGOs to find out who they were giving the money to Not a single NGO had given any money to actual fire victims of the Pacific Palisades and Altadena fires Reminder, investigators were able to track roughly $75 million had been granted to 120–188 nonprofits. Not a dime went to victims directly Gavin Newsom created a NGO and got some of the money

Did you know Ukraine was the third largest importer of Bentleys in Europe in 2025? Did you know that Ukraine imported 15 of the new £600,000 Rolls Royce Spectres? Did you know Ukraine imports more supercars than Russia? I wonder where the money comes from and who drives them?

My favorite part of King Charles appearing before Congress was the part where all the liberals who refused to stand or applaud for Angel Moms or a kid with cancer, and who constantly scream “NO KINGS!” give a 3 minute standing ovation for a literal king. 🙃 What a bunch of disingenuous hypocrites.

I went to Africa on a "mission trip" in my teenage years and it was the most blackpilling thing imaginable. The IQ chart floating around showing that the average African IQ is "mentally retarded" is completely true. It's not a problem of education, it's a problem of capability. Most of these people can't think 15 seconds beyond the present. They struggle to understand basic concepts, even those involving safety and self-preservation. They often can't understand simple mathematical or scientific concepts. Modern science may as well be witchcraft to them. They constantly misallocate resources -- after being gifted something like a tractor, and taught for months on how it works, they will simply strip it for parts the minute you leave and starve at harvest season. They have fantastical ideas about the power of witchcraft and some enduring folk superstition, believing things like bald men have gold in their heads. They think putting a condom on a stick in their house will magically protect them from getting AIDS, and they think having sex with a child will cure them. They constantly steal from each other, even those closest to them. I think it would be cheaper to send all libtards to some impoverished part of Africa and have them learn this the hard way than it would be to continue sending African countries aid. It's untenable. We have thrown money at them and babysat them for a century and they are no better off than a hundred years ago. It would be best to simply pack up and leave them to their own devices.

The Muslim community in the UK is outraged at the way police detained the 45-year-old Muslim immigrant who stabbed two Jewish people in London this morning. According to them, officers used excessive force in a ‘dehumanizing’ and ‘Islamophobic’ manner.

Female privilege is out of control. It's more than time that we drafted women. If you want the vote, ladies, then you have to be ready to pick up your end of the stick. No more sitting on the sidelines saying "tee-hee".

King Charles is telling the United States government to prepare for a war with Russia by getting ready to defend Ukraine and “her most courageous people.” He reminds Congress that they fought together through two world wars, the Cold War, and Afghanistan. *The entire Congress clapped.

@erinsongbird @jonburkeUK No, Tennessee. Once it gets hot and sticky, only the cyclists are on the paths. I've taken rides in 100 degrees and 95% humidity - if you're in shape and ready for it, it really wasn't a problem for me as long as I kept moving.

The reason there will be no ‘fuel crisis’ in the Netherlands is that every town, city, & village in the land is connected by fully-segregated cycle lanes. It’s possible for the Dutch to simply stop driving while fuel is short and prices are high. That’s real energy resilience.

🚨Gavin Newsom’s fire relief racket just got IRS confirmation: $800 million in “Fire Aid” for Pacific Palisades and LA wildfire victims never reached one single person. It flowed straight into NGOs — including one Newsom and his wife personally created. That group just quietly scrubbed itself from the website as the story broke. Pure California grift.

Gavin Newsom caught in a massive federal money laundering scam ‌ Newsom increased ambulance costs 300%, then requested reimbursements from the federal government, but it was fake ‌ He’d then pay a different company a fraction of the cost and pocket the rest. Stealing billions “One of the largest and most convoluted schemes in modern history has been discovered during a review of California's medical financial records” “Investigators found that under Gavin Newsom's leadership, the Golden State has essentially been funneling taxpayer money from all across America to prop up California's own finances. Genesis Plan started in 2022 and it revolves around the complex concept of intergovernmental transfers, which in simple terms is when a local hospital or county makes a transfer to the state Medicaid agency for payments of medical services such as ambulance rides - After the transfers are made, the state can then request a matching amount of money from the federal government - But Gavin Newsom's California abused this system by raising the price of a simple ambulance ride by nearly 300% - Then once the local hospitals made the transfer to the state and the state received the matching funds from the federal government - California then instead paid a private ambulance service which cost only a fraction of the original price, pocketing the difference.” This is one of the most dishonest frauds against taxpayers ever created, Gavin Newsom stole billions with this fraud Gavin Newsom reimbursement rates for public ambulance services by up to 500% (from $339 to $1,600 per ride in some approvals), prompting local governments or hospitals to transfer those inflated amounts to the state via IGTs. The state then claims federal matching dollars, typically at a 50% rate, before reimbursing private ambulance providers at the original lower cost, effectively pocketing the surplus federal funds to offset state budget shortfalls Gavin Newsom should be throw in prison

The name “Netherlands” isn’t just a coincidence. It’s a flat country. The highest point is about 300 meters, right on the border with Germany and Belgium. Otherwise, everything is flat. You can get anywhere on an electric bike, and almost anyone can get around on a regular bike, too. I think you have to climb more elevation in the German provincial town of Wuppertal alone than you do in the entire Netherlands.

@erinsongbird @jonburkeUK Actually, biking is great in really hot weather; no dogs on 20 foot leashes, no 3-wide strollers, just open road. As long as you have water and, critically, don't stop, the heat isn't even bothersome.

@jonburkeUK The U.S. county that I call home is larger than the Netherlands. Bikes are great and I wish we had better infrastructure but we still have to drive in the US. Also, our summers regularly have temps over 105/40 degrees, far too warm to be cruising around on a bike.

@jonburkeUK It's hard to bicycle if you can't eat becuse the food delivery trucks don't run. The Netherlands can't grow enough food to feed their population, it has to be imported...bicycles are not great cargo vehicles.
