Director Jim Jarmusch plans on making his new film in May, however, in France. The project is described as a road trip, passing through four cities. There are no plot details or information on who else is involved, as Jarmusch is deeply superstitious. For those who aren't aware, he's quite a secretive, controlling, and fiercely independent auteur. But why make a film in France? Per Jarmusch, the process of getting the right financing in the U.S. has become arduous and in 2025, he told director David Cronenberg, "In America, I’m an indie filmmaker, and I’m happy to be that. But in France, I’m an actual film director."

Director Steven Soderbergh during his interview with The Playlist revealed that he pitched ideas for James Bond films to producer Barbara Broccoli on two separate occasions, and both were ultimately rejected. Soderbergh's proposal was for a parallel franchise. A separate Bond continuity or "universe" that would run alongside the main series. The pitch's key aspects were the following: - Set in the 1960s - R-rated, with more violence and sex - A different actor as Bond - A fictional backstory tied to real historical events - A more stylized, auteur-driven approach
