"Storms" continues @quayola’s research on landscape painting through computational processes. Using ultra-high-definition footage of Cornwall’s stormy seas as a dataset, the works generate new algorithmic paintings where waves unfold slowly across a nullified space. Human and machine collaborate to paint landscapes made of pixels. ⟟ Art Basel Hong Kong 2026 Preview: 25–26 March Exhibition: 27–29 March ✦ Release on objkt.one: 25 March ✦ with @bitforms @objktone @artontezos_

3 works from the 'Storms XS' series by @quayola 💎 now in the collections of @joshuasobel , @absurdeity and @RadrTek . Individually they are already mindblowing. But side by side, I love the dialogue between them so much.

@quayola Speculating on the traditions of landscape painting, the work explores a hybrid substance between the pictorial and the algorithmic. ↓ Storm #06__K13M2_20467-02

✦ Art Reveal ✦ 〰 Storms, by @Quayola A unique collection of 50 distinct iterations, each generated from storm data captured on the coast of Cornwall through the analysis of wave behaviour at a specific moment in time. Each work is created using Quayola’s custom software. ↓ Storm #06__K01_01594-02, part of @joshuasobel’s collection.

✦ Computational Landscapes ✦ Landscape painting has always been about translating nature into image. In Storms, @quayola continues this tradition through computational systems. ↓

Storms begins with the sea. In Storms, @Quayola uses ultra-high-definition footage of Cornwall’s stormy coast as the dataset these computational paintings emerge from. Waves unfold across a nullified space, slowly dissolving into abstraction. Speculating on the traditions of landscape painting, the work explores a hybrid substance between the pictorial and the algorithmic. ⟟ Art Basel Hong Kong 2026 Preview: 25–26 March Exhibition: 27–29 March ✦ Release on objkt.one: 25 March ✦ with @bitforms, @objktone, @artontezos_
