The North Vietnamese Communists took control over the entire country after the withdrawal of US Combat forces. Vietnam is still a Communist country. Strategically, what was accomplished through US involvement in Vietnam? think maybe you're confusing this with in the context of the Cold War, however, this conflict closely mirrors the Afghanistan war. Did the US "Win" the Afghanistan War?
