@wooknowball @BronxBmbrz @teohtani Freeman turned in Barry Bonds and Yamamoto threw a gem. The Dodgers did not play like shit. The Yankees should’ve won game 1 and game 5 but just pissed the bed. A couple really good moments but a lot of bad, the Dodgers were just consistently good each game.

@drillyamama @Exiled_axe “Besides pitch calling” like their pitching staff didn’t give up like 70 walks and 20 stolen bases against the Yankees. The Marlins are a better team if they replace one of Ramirez/Hicks for a defense-first C. But hey so far the Marlins lineup has been sharp with those guys.

@simplyddada @Exiled_axe But since they went to coaches pitch calling his wRC+ is 113 this year and Hicks is 214. Which is my point. Marlins catchers are spending extra time on other things besides pitch calling and it’s enhanced their games

Think there's a lot of really good stuff from both the Yankees and Marlins side in this article. I haven't developed an opinion on the Marlins doing this quite yet, but I will say this quote is the one that stood out to me most.

@drillyamama @Exiled_axe Well so is Ramirez. Ramirez had a 91 wRC+ which was lower than Wells. Things could change this year. 1. Framing is still very important. 2. You’re missing the point, Wells may be below in both blocking and pop time but Ramirez is bottom of the barrel.

@drillyamama @Exiled_axe Framing is still valuable because ABS is used on every pitch imagine if that strike 3 on Conine was called when the Marlins had 0 challenges left. Also 45th percentile blocker and 39th percentile Pop Time versus 1 percentile blocker and 28th percentile po-time.
