Wenn das Deutsche Reich den Zweiten Weltkrieg gewonnen hätte und sich in einem kalten Krieg mit dem Westen befinden würde, dann hätten im besten Fall futurische deutsche Technologie und Großbauprojekte eine so gewaltige kulturelle Strahlkraft gehabt, dass nicht nur das Äquivalent der Hippie-Bevölkerung dieser Zeitlinie, sondern ein großer Teil der amerikanischen Bevölkerung und des Establishments für eine Normalisierung der Beziehung mit der „alten Welt“ advokiert hätte, um gemeinsam mit Deutschland und unserer Raketentechnik den Weltraum zu erforschen.
Oder es würde einen andauernden lauwarmen Krieg geben, oder einen heißen. Aber die Idee, dass sich Deutschland genau wie die Sowjetunion verhalten würde, ist nicht nachvollziehbar. Die Sowjetunion war der kleine Bruder Amerikas, ihr wichtigster Waffenbruder auf dem Kontinent. Der kalte Krieg konnte nur so stattfinden, weil zwei verwandte radikale Republiken sich darauf geeinigt hatten, die alte imperiale Weltordnung Europas mit ihren konservativen Monarchien abzusetzen, aber beide für verschiedene linke politische Strömungen standen. Und genau das ist doch überhaupt gar nicht der Fall in diesem alternativen Geschichtsszenario. Deutschland würde eher an die weißen Männern appellieren, als irgendwelche Mohrenaufstände moralisch oder auf anderen Wegen zu unterstützen.
