There are many real issues in this country that deserve attention,governance, economy, and public concerns that affect everyday lives. We should be debating, questioning, and holding the government accountable on these matters. Instead, the national focus is diverted to a sensational, adult themed documentary filled with lies, pushed by so-called a media who has a history of doing this. This is not constructive criticism, it is distraction built on allegations and personal attacks. Maldives is a small, close-knit Islamic society. What we normalize matters. Not everything should be turned into public spectacle under the excuse of journalism or free speech. In Islam, Qazf is a serious matter with heavy consequences. We cannot ignore this and defend harmful, unverified claims simply because they target political figures. If we allow this to continue, it will become a dangerous trend that harms individuals and the entire society. Even for future Presidents snd leaders we must hold the people who did this accountable.

Maldives Police are right to investigate & raid the news outlet over false “Zina” allegations against the President. Press freedom is guaranteed, but not a free pass to destroy reputations with lies. Constitution of Maldives: • Art 27: Freedom of expression (not contrary to tenets of Islam). • Art 28: Freedom of the media to publish news & views. • Art 33: Everyone has the right to protect one’s reputation and good name. Spreading fabricated serious accusations is not journalism. Police are upholding the rule of law and the President’s constitutional rights. Responsible freedom comes with accountability. No one is above the law.

#BREAKING: Police are currently seizing electronic devices despite the court warrant being issued strictly as a search order. Lawyers have formally protested the seizure, maintaining that the confiscation of these electronics falls outside the scope of the warrant and constitutes an unlawful action.

I just can’t with this country….!! A 25 year old man attempted suicide tonight while under the influence and distressed by personal issues. After he self-harmed, it was devastating that the ambulance took nearly 30 minutes to arrive, by the time it reached the scene, the victim had already been rushed to the hospital by motorcycle. One of his main arteries was severed. Apparently, AEH lacks a vascular surgeon and since there is only one available at ADK, he is expected to be airlifted to Malé as soon as Aasandha responds. (He is stable tho) Society and parents have failed; our youth are consumed by drugs while the state has failed in terms of rehabilitation. The local health sector has failed as well. Y’all have reached a point where basic living conditions are deteriorating by the minute. 😔

Parents of repeat bullies should not be allowed to hide behind “kids will be kids.” If a child repeatedly harms other children, schools must hold the adults accountable: mandatory parent meetings, counselling, parenting classes, written behaviour contracts, case tracking, fines for non-compliance, and child-protection referral where neglect is evident. Protect the victim first. Rehabilitate the bully where possible. Hold the adults accountable always. Child neglect should also be classified by severity. Repeated neglect that damages a child’s safety, mental health, education, or behaviour should carry real consequences. We are not raising children in a jungle. And this matters even more for special needs children, disabled children, neurodivergent children, and children who struggle to speak up. They should not have to survive school by luck. Accountability must begin with the adults.

If development cannot survive corruption, then corruption cannot be treated as the price of development. There is no respectable middle ground between theft and justice. “Some corruption” is not realism. It is permission. It is a ventilator stolen from the sick, a billion buried in vanity projects, a school delayed, a hospital weakened, a generation taxed for someone else’s election. Maldives will not be saved by recycled parties, dinosaur politicians, polished speeches, or business interests pretending to be national vision. Every party had its chance. Every time power came, reform became theatre and theft changed clothes. No one is coming to save us. Not a hero. Not a speaker. Not a party. We either build a system corruption cannot easily enter, with institutions strong enough to punish the powerful, or we admit we are choosing decay. A 21st century Muslim nation with our resources has no excuse to move backwards. The future has to be taken back by serious citizens: builders, economists, technologists, reformers, historians, strategists, and everyone who refuses to watch the country rot politely. The Thoddoo agrochemical report 'From dying soils to hidden residues, Maldives faces a food‑safety crisis in slow motion' is a wake-up call. Banned pesticides Carbaryl & Diafenthiuron have been found in food produce. Residues far exceed safe limits: • Dimethoate: 0.52 (limit 0.01) • Permethrin: 0.95 (limit 0.05) • Carbendazim: 0.61 (limit 0.2) This is a serious public health risk requiring immediate intervention. I urge @presidencymv @MFAORmv @Shiyamaldives @MoHmv to enforce regulations, protect consumers, and halt the use of hazardous chemical pesticides without delay. We must also correct a dangerous misconception: the Maldives can grow food without toxic chemicals. From 2006–2013, Island Organics successfully produced food organically on Maarikilu, training farmers across Baa Atoll (Kihaadhoo, Dharavandhoo, Kamadhoo, Kudarikilu, Maalhos) and across Haa Alif, Haa Dhaalu, Shaviyani, Fuvahmulah, and Addu to transition away from chemical pesticides and increase food security. This is not theoretical—it is proven. In November 2013, this project was disrupted when, through a flawed bidding process to establish an integrated agricultural farm without chemical pesticides on Maarikilu was awarded to WIZ Company, President Waheed’s wife Ilham’s & her siblings'construction company with no prior agricultural experience; despite a functioning integrated organic farm established by Island Organics already in operation for 7 years! I am honestly shocked after watching this. A minister going on national TV and sharing what was said on a victim support helpline… just a day after someone died by suicide? How can we as a country let this be the normal. It’s unprofessional and unethical. That was someone’s most vulnerable moment. Those conversations are supposed to be sacred, protected, private, safe. Instead, they were exposed live on TV. Not only does this violate her dignity, it puts out raw, triggering details that can deeply affect others who are already struggling. Additionally, if this is how confidential helplines are treated, how can anyone else feel safe enough to reach out for help? Government and ministers are not supposed to stoop to the level of social media gossip groups. Those at the top are meant to set the example, by holding themselves to the highest standards, always. That didn’t happen here. So I’m asking the media and everyone on social platforms: please take up that responsibility yourselves. Do not repeat what was said. Do not amplify or share her msgs. Protect what little dignity and trust remains.
