Finally heard from our son in Asheville. Apparently, one hotel near Haw Creek inexplicably has cell service in its parking lot. It is the new neighborhood gathering place. My son says the pictures do not do it justice. This is really bad. #Asheville #NCfloods

@HeMadeAWayAbba Finally heard from him. Apparently word of mouth got out that the parking lot of one nearby hotel was somehow getting cell signal (it is now a very crowded parking lot) He tells me the flooding and destruction is worse than we can imagine.

I was on the phone with my mom around the same time. She is in Leicester along with my aunt and uncle. Cannot reach them
