Teachers have simultaneously: A) been stripped of the ability to do anything about poorly behaved students B) been pressured to pass students no matter what C) been tasks with taking on more and more responsibilities that used to belong to parents D) been vilified and blamed for every problem in society. So…why the job dissatisfaction? It’s a mystery!

@MrDanielBuck Combine that with empowering teachers to remove disruptive students permenantly and I think you are on to something.

Some say that holding 8-year-olds back a grade because they can’t read will negatively impact their “self-esteem”. What about the “self-esteem” of students when they become 18-year-olds who graduate from high school illiterate because they were just moved through the system?
