Um ….Over 1,000 colleges and universities required vaccination for students, employees, or both to return to campus in fall 2021–spring 2022 (including many large public institutions). This was common during Omicron. K-12 was rarer—only a few states Also many large employers implemented mandates during Omicron,
Prof Jeffrey S Morris@jsm2334

You are comparing apples and oranges here, by mentioning lower risk post-Omicron but comparing to post-vaccine risks of the initial doses given pre-Omicron and mentioning mandates that were not really in effect post-Omicron at all. Any fair and careful benefit/risk must split into 2021 during initial rollout, and 2022+ post-Omicron when we are talking primarily about boosters. Children were given their 1st two doses of mRNA or the doses of viral vectors in 2021 pre-Omicron -- which is both when the risks of COVID-19 were higher and when the myocarditis and VITT were mostly observed. So you'd have to acknowledge the risk of COVID-19 in 2021 to fairly evaluate the vaccine rollouts in 2021, right? And post-Omicron, doses of vaccines would mostly be boosters (and typically given mostly to higher risk kids, and I don't think these were mandated ANYWHERE). And note that the viral vectors were generally not given anymore, so the VITT is not relevant to that time period, and the risk of myocarditis much lower after mRNA boosters than primary doses, especially after the effective dose was reduced for teens. Surely, you account for all of this when comparing to the COVID-19 risks in this age group during Omicron. And do you really stand by your comments that the risks of mRNA vaccine boosters (for those who voluntarily received them, since they really were not mandated after Omicron) outweigh the risks of Omicron infections for this group?

@RepJoshG @AOC How about they get defensive aid after they stop slaughtering Palestinians, end their invasion of Lebanon, agree to a peace deal with Iran, and then agree to either a 2-state solution or a single, democratic state with equal rights regardless of religion/ethnicity?

I’m confused. Defensive military aid stops rockets aimed at innocent children and families. So, why oppose it? We provide defensive military aid to Ukraine, Taiwan, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Kenya, etc. @AOC Should we cut all of them off? Or is that your policy just for the Jews?

Whatever Israel’s level of popularity is right now is its ceiling, because Israel is going to take a huge part of the blame for the financial crisis and likely recession about to hit us. And while the global economy is on its knees, Israel will *still* be pushing for the war on Iran to continue. And people will have had more than enough. @AOC breaking against Israel here is a major sign of their weakening position. She tried very hard to find some reasonable middle position that wasn’t full opposition but it just isn’t there with the way Israel behaves.

🔴 NEW: AOC commits to oppose all U.S. arms funding for Israel Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said she would vote against “any spending on arms for Israel, including so-called defensive capabilities,” during an NYC-DSA candidate forum, according to Peter Sterne, editor at City & State NY. A leading Democratic progressive, she is believed to be a potential contender for the party’s 2028 presidential nomination.

@speechboy71 Speak for yourself. He is incredibly popular for a national politician. Not because he is Jewish but because of what he believes in and fights for. Along with many other things, I very much like that he isn’t a complete pawn of a foreign government.

Nancy Mace gives Dems the votes to pass the War Powers resolution. Meeks said go talk to Republicans. Prem talked to Mace, I talked to Davidson. The votes are there. If Dems don’t put it on the floor now it’s because they don’t want it to pass now.
Zeteo@zeteo_news

Just as Democrat Gregory Meeks told Drop Site he would not put the War Powers Resolution to a vote because he didn't think it would win, Rep. Nancy Mace told @prem_thakker the case she makes for one. Mace's possible support could’ve been enough to help pass the resolution.

@cenkuygur And it is the most aggravating thing to see these media + political figures use me (Jew) as a shield, while they actually don’t give a damn about actually helping. They oppose making housing or health care affordable (hint: I am American with the same concerns as everyone else).

Whole point of disingenuous figures in media and politics using weaponized charges of antisemitism is to eliminate any criticism of Israel from public conversation in America. They surround Israel in a protective barrier of trope accusations so that any critic is eliminated. If Bulgaria kills 20,000 children, you can say that's terrible. But if Israel does it, it's a blood libel trope. So, the killing of tens of thousands of children IS NOT THE PROBLEM. The person criticizing the killings IS THE PROBLEM, because they're "antisemites" doing a "trope." This is how American media has smeared and weeded out almost all critics of Israel. They have universally pretended that the problem isn't the awful things the government of Israel is doing, but the people who have moral problems with a genocide. We're the evil ones for opposing genocide, endless wars and occupation? That's not just absurd, it turns the truth on its head. It's impossible not be frustrated with this kind of systemic propaganda, let alone on behalf of a different country. And it is also awfully strange.

Bernie has addressed this many times, including in one of my all-time favorite Bernie moments during a 2017 CNN debate with Ted Cruz. WATCH: Bernie takes on a Denmark-born economist from the conservative Peterson Institute. The economist starts by attacking Bernie's approach. See what happens next...

Senator Rand Paul researched and found that everything Bernie Sanders and AOC have been saying about their views for socialism have been an outright lie This is very important information “Democratic socialists like Bernie Sanders often point to Scandinavia is the model for what the U.S should become — When (Bernie Sanders and AOC) talk about democratic socialism, (Bernie Sanders says) ‘I'm not looking at Venezuela, I'm not looking at Cuba. I'm looking at countries like Denmark and Sweden’” But that’s just not true Rand Paul “We learned that actually Bernie is too much of a socialist for Scandinavia, that he probably could not get elected in any of the Scandinavian countries — When he started talking about Denmark being socialist, the prime minister of Denmark came out publicly and said, Bernie, quit it. You're, you're bad for business. We are not socialist. And if the rest of the world thinks Denmark's socialist, they won't come here and invest money. Denmark is far from socialist planned economy.” Not only is Denmark not socialist, but the other countries Democrats point to as examples are very wrongly depicted “We found that basically it's not true that the Scandinavian countries are socialist. Basically they have private property, private stock exchange when different freedom or economic indexes are listed. They're in the top 10 of the most free countries. Now, they do have a big welfare state, but we also learned that what Bernie promises and what AOC promises in our country is untrue. They say, we're gonna have a lot of free stuff that a socialist state gives you, but only the rich people are gonna pay for it. Only the top 1%. Turns out when you look at Scandinavia, everybody pays for it. - Particularly starting at the working class, paying a 25% sales tax - Then an income tax of 60% starting at 60,000 - And really the rich in our country pay a lot more. — The rich pay a lot more in our country than they actually do in Scandinavia. So his whole stick it to the rich, you know, thing that he's promoting isn't true in Scandinavia. He says, in our country, the corporate income taxes, the evil corporations aren't paying enough. Well, guess what? In Scandinavia, there have been 15 points below our corporate rates for 2 decades” Meaning, it’s the working class who would ultimately pay insane taxes for Democrat’s plan for socialism “It's sad that people still think Scandinavian countries are socialists.“

The FDA did a very unusual thing this week: It included photos from a recent unannounced inspection of an Indian drug manufacturer in its Warning Letter to the company - the first time I believe it's ever done so. Would you believe this is from a drug manufacturer?

Graham Platner's got the grit to fight for what’s right on behalf of Maine’s working families—not billionaires and giant corporations. He’s inspired a grassroots movement to flip Maine, and I’m thrilled to endorse @grahamformaine for Senate.

🚨Endorsement Alert! 🚨 “People are excited to vote for someone who will actually fight for them. Not just nibble around the edges.” Thank you, Senator Warren. Together I look forward to taking on Wall Street and the billionaires waging a class war against the rest of us.
