Coachella mess The venue where Trump held the rally is in the middle of nowhere and 5 miles from parking. The cult was lured in with bus rides to get in to the venue and then abandoned when it was over. This is the perfect metaphor for a Trump presidency. Who has a slogan?

Let’s be clear: Donald Trump would sign a national abortion ban and restrict access to contraception if given the chance. That is what’s at stake in November. We will stop him.

@Scott_Wiener No teacher wants to get dragged into sensitive family issues. I can picture a kid denying he ever shared that he was transgender out of fear, then the school getting sued by angry parents.

If you keep talking about the assassination attempt don’t you dare tell the kids who survive school shootings and their families to “just get over it” What happened today is unacceptable and what happens every day to kids who aren’t the president and don’t survive isn’t either.

My name is Sam Schwartz and I’m 20 years old. On Valentine’s Day 2018, my cousin Alex was murdered by a gunman using an AR15 in Parkland. Today, the Supreme Court overturned the ban on bump stocks, making mass shootings like the one that killed my cousin far more likely to include a higher death count. I’m not going to stand for this. We’re organizing this summer on the Tour To Save Democracy, stopping in vulnerable Republican seats to flip them blue. This is how we will create a Democratic trifecta that will pass SCOTUS reform & gun safety laws. If you support us, can you RT and follow me to make sure we accomplish our goal?

California homeowners, take notice! Recent changes to Proposition 19 mean inherited properties are now being reassessed, leading to potential spikes in property tax liability. Join us in advocating for the repeal of Proposition 19's 'death tax' provisions.

@SukritGanesh @KarinaVlaw There may be a $1 million exemption but if you ever move out of that primary home you will get reassessed to current market values. The primary home now has less Prop 13 protection!

𝗪𝗲 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝘅𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗣 19 that passed narrowly by voters in November 2020, repealed Prop. 58 and Prop. 193 so that property is again reassessed to market value when transferred between parents and children or grandparents and grandchildren, with only limited exceptions. Many voters did not realize that this measure created a “death tax” on property. The advertising campaign to pass the measure emphasized only the provisions that benefit seniors, disabled individuals and wildfire victims. (The Repeal the Death Tax Act would not change those benefits.)

@jeremyhoffman @GeorgistSteve A few reasons: Home insurance is quadrupling & companies are pulling out of CA due to wildfire risk. If a landlord rents below market and rent control is enforced on SFRs, he is screwed. Pandemic moratoriums.... These days below market comes with great risk

Absolute truth. On my retirement I would not be able to afford the taxes that would be on my home alone. Proposition 13 is not enough here in California. Think about that you young people out there that can't afford a home.

Ashley Caswell serving a 15-year jail sentence for “Class C” felony endangerment, exposing a fetus to substances. Oh, you didn't know Alabama was jailing women for addiction? If you're pregnant Yup. So because the state of Alabama cares so much about the fetus’ Ashley was denied regular prenatal care despite being at high risk. Because Alabama cares about fetuses Ashley was denied prescribed psychiatric medication. Because Alabama cares about fetuses she slept on a mat on the floor. Ashley’s Water broke last month, she was told to sleep it off. Cuz, Alabama cares about fetuses. After 12 hours of labor with Tylenol and guards telling her to stop screaming she finally delivered the baby in a jail shower because, you guessed it, Alabama cares about fetuses. Nearly bleeding out, she was taken to the hospital, she had placental abruption which could have caused a stillborn. But hey, Alabama cares about them fetuses, right? Right? The Pregnancy Justice Center reported this year that Alabama had the highest number of pregnancy criminalization cases in the country, the year Roe was overturned 649 cases were logged. But hey, Alabama cares about fetuses. #FreshWords

In case anyone who watched the @GavinNewsom @RonDeSantis debate wants to know why taxes are so much higher here in California, here is a search for “administrator” salaries in California for 2022. There are over 13,000 of these positions with “administrator” in the title. And these people get lifetime pensions when they retire too. It’s a little bit of the one hand washing the other here in California. California is under complete one party control. Democrat politicians all give fat pay raises to the government employees and the government employee unions give all their political contributions to the Democrats. Lather, rinse, repeat. And it’s not just administrators, you can do similar searches for politicians, city planners, administrative assistants, and paper pushers of all types. They all make way more in California than they do in other states. Feel free to do some searches for yourself. The taxpayers meanwhile are left holding the bag. When you throw in having to pay to support over half the homeless in the country, who we pay to move here even as our actual taxpayers are leaving, as well as illegal immigration, you can see why it costs so much more to run California. In fact the budget of California is almost 3x !!! the budget of Florida, so of course taxes have to be a lot higher here to pay for it all. transparentcalifornia.com/salaries/searc…

@530BruceRoss @TedLesher @rohindhar The primary residence is now subject to 2 reassessments. When the parent dies, you get reassessed which can result in a higher tax bill despite the $1 mill exemption if you move in within a year. If you move out later, you get reassessed at current property values.

@TedLesher @rohindhar All inherited property kept its original tax basis until Prop 19 reduced that to apply only to primary residences. Always struck me as something from medieval Europe to inherit your family's tax privileges, but the voters approved that law in the '80s

Prop 13 in California is such an insane gift to property holders 😂 You have an free option to mark to market if home prices go down (ask for a reassessment to lower your tax basis permanently) But if prices go up, you can just keep your old valuation from when you purchased
