How a Presidential Election should look in 2028: Canola oil giant kiddie pool battle royale - last one in the inflatable pool wins. That would be better than the current 'two parties pick a prize winning pig' tradition.

AI is going to get so good at making video content that it'll put social media influencers out of business - the fictional people with fictional stories will simply be more entertaining and we won't even be able to tell.

@briankeepsworth I fully support the MAGA Catholics leaving the Catholic church. These are the same "Catholics" that show up to Sunday mass for social curb appeal rather than worship. They're Catholic until it's inconvenient - that's not faith that's self interest.

What all the MAGA Catholics who are announcing their departure don't seem to understand is that they need the Church more than the Church needs them. It is their loss, and it isn't even close.

If you don't believe this - you probably don't understand the importance of reading an ancient text with historical context. The Old Testament promotes isolationist and nationalist sentiment as a means of preserving and protecting the Israelite's culture and way of life(not modern Israel obviously). This ideology, along with many other things, is no longer valid following the sacrifice of Christ. The abolishment of ceremonial law makes us ALL God's chosen people.

Controversial take: Jesus doesn’t want us to kill Muslims, He wants us to lead them to Him. You do that by loving them, not by dropping bombs on them.

The real solution is solving monopolies in the healthcare industry. When you own the medical practice, the clinic, the distributor, the manufacturer, and you employ the doctors making the prescriptions, there is an obvious conflict of interest. Healthcare would be affordable if big pharma didn't take a cut every time the product changed hands WITHIN THEIR OWN COMPANIES.

Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene🇺🇸
Reclassifying Marijuana does NOTHING to lower the cost of health insurance premiums. UNAFFORDABLE health insurance is the major issue plaguing the majority of Americans. Trump’s answer give them marijuana. It’s honestly pitiful that the Republican Party flat out refuses to tackle one of the biggest problems and ridiculously expensive cost for hard working Americans. Because of this massive Republican failure, it is paving the way for huge support for Healthcare for All, government funded (actually taxpayer funded) and government controlled healthcare. Americans will overwhelmingly support it because health insurance has become sooooooo unaffordable as the result of Obamacare and Republicans refuse to fix it, leaving struggling Americans no other choice. Do you enjoy government services? Now imagine they are in charge of allowing you which doctor or medical care you are allowed to receive. And the question remains, with nearly $40 trillion dollars in federal debt and interest alone skyrocketing over $1 trillion dollars per year as part of the annual budget, HOW WOULD OUR GOVERNMENT EVEN PAY FOR HEALTHCARE FOR AMERICA??? 🤯 Not to mention, Social Security is going to be insolvent in 6-7 years!!! We are soon entering the bankruptcy phase of our nation and Democrat’s answer will be throw more taxpayer money that we don’t have to solve the problems and Trump’s answer is give them marijuana, they will all be too high to notice they’re broke. And Republicans just don’t have any answer at all.

To all empowered women - here is the real motivation behind the pro-choice movement: Labor. Not women going into labor, women providing it. They destroyed the nuclear family to double the workforce and had you kill off your offspring to keep you on the factory floor. Welcome to America. #WakeUp

@varien How about as a result of decades of "kill your babies" propaganda and the destruction of the nuclear family? Whether you are Pro-Life or Pro-Choice its the same motivator: the powers that be WANT you to get abortions.

@CriticallyFrank 25yr LO here. You can come in with less down, but you're still paying MIP and a blended rate on anything under 10%. The system just moves the cost around. The play is fractional RE ownership. Build equity starting at $10, no mortgage, no MIP. That's what @BTCglobal_io is doing.

How do we solve the affordability crisis in American housing for first time homebuyers? The simple answer: it's not done overnight. I'm a young American with years of experience in the mortgage and real estate industry, and here is a 5 year plan that I believe could have a significant impact on housing affordability: The idea: Institutional investors(PE firms, hedge funds > $100 million USD) have purchased millions of single family homes in America since 2010, inflating home prices and squeezing out first time homebuyers. Our goal here shouldn't be to vilify the capital, but rather redirect it toward a supply problem rather than an ownership problem. This could be done via legislation with 4 pillars: Pillar 1 - The Divestment Mandate Phased single family liquidation - SFH freeze - no more buying single family homes for large players. - Hedge funds/PE firms have 5 years to fully divest from single family housing, requiring a percentage of their SFH portfolio to be liquidated on a yearly basis. - Properties are required to be sold to owner-occupants first. Remaining inventory can be sold via community land trusts or local housing authorities before the open market. Pillar 2 - The Reinvestment Incentive Affordable Multifamily Tax Credit Program - Firms that build qualifying multifamily housing earn transferable federal tax credits that are stackable with existing LIHTC(Low income housing tax credit) programs. - Firms can earn additional tax credits if they meet certain criteria around affordability, sustainability, and developments in housing-shortage areas. Pillar 3 - Capital Deployment Mechanisms Tools for Reinvestment - Federal Housing Reinvestment Fund: a government co-investment vehicle where qualifying firms can partner with HUD on shovel ready projects - reducing risk for new builds - Expedited permitting: cities that adopt zoning reform will unlock federal infrastructure grants, making their markets more attractive for these funds to build in - Guaranteed off take agreements: If funds are unable to move the homes, the federal government will be required to purchase the homes at a reasonable market price, and sell back to first time owner occupants at a loss. Pillar 4 - Preemptively close loopholes - No condo conversion loophole: SFH --> SF Condo conversion counts as SFH retention - Subsidiary rule: the $100M threshold would apply to consolidated AUM, not individual fund vehicles, which would prevent large funds from using shell corporations to remain in the single family housing market. - Clawback provision: credits are recaptured if units are converted to short term rentals or sold to another institutional investor within 10 years. This plan has appeal with both conservative and progressive arguments. Conservative appeal: Market based, uses tax incentives rather than mandates, creates private sector led housing supply, reduces government housing dependency long term. Progressive appeal: returns SFH stock to families, mandates affordability, prioritizes first time homebuyers and community land trusts, incentives for sustainable building practices. Well if you read through that whole thing let me know what you think. s/o @j_fishback for bringing attention to the real issue in the housing market - big players pushing out first time homebuyers. Fishback for Florida Governor 2026!

I'm all for investigating and putting an end to fraud within the American government. The semantics in congress just seem a bit strange to me here - do Republican Congressmen really expect us to believe this is isolated to the Democrats? How about unexplained military spending? If we don't cut out this "use it or lose it" tradition in federally funded programs our country will NEVER recover. Fuck this two party bullshit. I'll sprout wings and fly before I vote Red OR Blue again.

If you didn't need a down payment? There are loan programs all across the country that approve homebuyers with LESS than $0 down. I live in Michigan and we have a MSHDA(Michigan State Housing Development Authority) $10k down payment assistance program for first time homebuyers. If your problem with buying a house is that you THINK you can't afford it, you're going about it the wrong way. Talk to an experinced loan officer and they can point you in the right direction. Depending on the company: the nice part - they don't get paid unless you end up in a home.

@CriticallyFrank The 5-year plan is the right instinct. But the system is designed to keep that down payment out of reach. It's not a bug. What if you didn't need one?

@Clavicular0 Is David the ultimate jester? From the Bible: “David was wearing a sacred linen apron. He danced in front of the Lord with all his might.” - 2 Samuel 6:14 His wife Michal then mocks him saying he looks like a fool - David's only concern was to show his devotion to the Lord, regardless of onlookers. Please O Holy Clav I need your input😭

@dragodimitrov That is a great answer! And I believe the court(RC) does hold merit as far as maintaining consistency over a large pool of believers, but I am a firm believer that an individual is capable of complex nuance and understanding beyond the confines of institutional dogma.

@CriticallyFrank It's the difference between recognizing the existence of a court and the text of the law VS the decision to appoint yourself as the one to definitively rule on the meaning of the text (being the court yourself)

I think this is a reasonable argument but it depends on application. Scripture is consistent in the idea that faith alone will not buy you salvation. So if you: Believe in Jesus Christ, do your best to embody LOVE at every opportunity, and repent and air your grievances and sins to the lord an your community - in my mind you would have led a life worthy of salvation.

Modern Democrats are just as bad! If not worse. The problem is information accountability - if your source is a 22 year old non binary foxkin doing a tiktok stitch you are the opposite of well informed. The same could be said if your source is a 24 year old construction worker rambling about federal programs they couldn't begin to explain. When everyone has a platform, the saturation of misinformation increases, turning doomscrolling into the largest game of propaganda telephone ever played. #WakeUp

Conservatives don't believe in anything. They know that their belief system is intellectually dishonest, based in ignorance and filled with hypocrisy. This makes it impossible to "debate" them. They aren't smart enough to have a meaningful conversation with.

@Idontcare987123 @Matt_Pinner @grok That does not make you a bad guy. Where there is demand there is money to be made, and alcohol is completely legal and I don't see that changing anytime soon. I've been sober myself for almost 2 years - congrats on your longterm sobriety!
