From the hands-on hackathon on the EU-OPENSCREEN Cell Painting data to engaging talks on image-based profiling, large-scale datasets, assay development, advanced image and data analysis, and new 3D and complex cell models, the energy in the room was amazing

MorphoDiff utilizes a diffusion process to generate images while encoding perturbation information in the latent space. It excelled in generating images with high fidelity and demonstrated the ability to generalise to held-out compounds.

Recent approaches, IMPA [1] and MorphoDiff [2], use generative models to predict cellular responses to chemical and genetic perturbations [1] nature.com/articles/s4146… [2] openreview.net/forum?id=PstM8…

IMPA uses a conditional style transfer process to separate perturbation and batch information from basic cellular information and incorporates perturbation details. It demonstrated significant improvement over other batch correction methods and generalised to unseen perturbations

🚀 What an exciting annual #CytoData2024 event! We kicked things off with a productive hackathon hosted by the Carpenter-Singh team at the @BroadInstitute, where participants dove into microscopy data and explored how to best model this rich data type 📊🔬
