This is what happens when people don’t act against the SEC and force them to do the job entrusted to them which is enforcing the Anti-Trust Laws. There are three of them. That is why market competition is the cornerstone of a healthy economy and society. We have allowed corruption to infiltrate every facet of the SEC. They reap financial benefits by not doing their jobs. By not regulating and balancing the free market. By not allowing giant conglomerates to eat up every small business and buy out competitors. They have the unilateral authority to do so. Congress has already vested this power to them. And yet look around people. A handful of “Parent Corporations” literally control the entire American market. Their subsidiary companies all have different names and logos and brand design to give the outward appearance of differentiation. Which gives the illusion of choice. But once you follow the trail up the ladder it eventually converges into one single entity. You have no choice. That’s why inflation is so horrid now. Because there are no stop gaps to prevent obscene price gouging. Supermarkets charge whatever they want because they know every other supermarket is charging the same. Why? Because they’re all owned under a single entity! Without fair market competition corporations can bleed us dry and we have no options.
