@DanRafael1 You should study up on “predatory pricing,” an antitrust law doctrine about how companies are willing to absorb losses to gain market share and then later recoup those losses—through higher prices—once they obtain a monopoly.

We(AdamsBoxingShow) believe Tank Davis’ return fight will be against Pitbull Cruz. That educated guess is based on what we’ve seen in interviews, and people we’ve talked to. If I had to give a percentage on it happening next,I would say 80%.

@AlBernstein It is a fantastic rule—it’s stupid for a guy to weigh 20 pounds more on fight night than the contract limit. There should be another weigh in 10 days before fight. Everyone should fight at their actual weight class.

I don’t understand why the IBF rehydration rule is the villain in this Hitchens scenario. He made the first weight and the 2nd like many fighting for IBF titles have done. Many went on to fight brilliant title fights. If he didn’t do it responsibly & did something to put himself in danger and if he really was sick, that is on him and his team. We all understand why the rule is in place. If it is not a good rule they should change it. but We have many examples when fighters make the weight in good fashion and they don’t put on more than 10 pounds, make the 2nd weight & they fight well. Period.

@TheLiverPunch Do you even need hydration testing if you weigh in same day and 10 days before fight?

Hydration testing that starts a week out would make same day weigh-ins viable. Everyone would have to go up a division or more, but you'd be ensuring fighters had fully functioning cerebrospinal fluid, which is what protects the brain.
Lee Groves@LeeGrovesBoxing

In the wake of Hitchins' withdrawal more than a few people have called for a return to same-day weigh-ins. In this clip from 2023, @SmittyBoxing has called for just that (and has for years before that), and Hall of Famer @NigelBoxing agrees. I do as well. It's getting ridiculous.

@DanRafael1 When “promoters” lose money on a great fighter, it’s the promoters’ fault, not the fighter’s. It’s literally the promoters’ job to promote the fight and generate revenue. When Top Tank claimed it couldn’t make money on Crawford, they were inept.

No "energy" needed. Jai's deal with Matchroom was up. Eddie said he lost money on him. Jai still also with Tasman. Quite positive he is being well paid by Zuffa. Not a terrible look at all given he can defend his Ring and IBF titles.
Matty Kay@MJKay87

@DanRafael1 @danawhite @jaiopetaia1 @Zuffa_Boxing Dan c’mon .. I need to see some of your usual energy about this ‘announcement’. It is absolutely dreadful and a terrible look for Opetaia! Imagine leaving @EddieHearn because he can’t deliver the fights you want and then this is what you come up with next 🙃

Trying to think of a boxing comparison for Sam Darnold. The name that came to mind was Buster Douglas. Someone with immense talent that underachieved early in their career, was written off, but found a way to reach the pinnacle of their sport against all odds.

Tonight I am here where I’m supposed to be in my beautiful Island with my people celebrating and watching with awe how well Benito represented us and our culture I am proud to be Puerto Rican, and I am proud to be an American citizen. Puerto Ricans are not “fake Americans.” We are citizens who have contributed to this country in every field, from military service to sports, business, science, and the arts, and our identity and citizenship deserve respect. I would not have the opportunities I have today without the support and belief that Most Valuable Promotions and Jake Paul showed in me, and I will always be grateful for the role they have played in helping change my life and in elevating women’s boxing. At the same time, I want to be clear: I do not agree with statements that question the legitimacy or identity of Puerto Rican people, and I cannot support that characterization. It is wrong. I fight with the pride of Puerto Rico and represent my flag every time I step into the ring. I will always stand with my people, with respect for who we are, and with pride in where we come from. I will never change and will forever be a Proud Boricua.

If Devin Haney and Shakur Stevenson fight each other, and one hurts the other, will one of them go for the knockout? These are two guys that aren’t known for going for the kill when they get someone hurt. Just saying. Fair concern. Everything needs to be put on the table for a mega fight. 🤷‍♂️. Just want to know.

@DanRafael1 Can you post or link to the letter? Also, fights should be 11 or 13 (or 15) rounds. 12 is stupid.

NEWS: Bakhram Murtazaliev, who lost IBF 154 title by maj. dec. to Josh Kelly on Saturday in Newcastle, England, Kelly’s home area, has formally asked IBF to order immediate rematch based on the highly unusual 10-10 scoring of rd 12 by judge Steve Gray. Had he scored it for Murtazaliev (as 1 judge did) fight would have been a draw & he'd have retained the title. I have a copy of the 6-page letter. #boxing

@SugarShane97 @snboxing It’s been a long time since Teo really committed to punches for that strategy to work. He paws now and doesn’t extend his arms much. Very different puncher than before. Some people think his power didn’t carry from 135-140, but I see a change for the worse in his technique.

@snboxing From my view, Lopez has to be assertive & use his straight shots to the body as a form of pressure & an entry into the pocket. Lopez's strength is his athletic ability so putting Stevenson into unfavourable positions along the ropes could create opportunities.

I wonder what would happen if Teo is the fighter who decides to get on his bike on Saturday and keep it very low volume. I actually think that’s his best chance of winning. I’m not expecting him to do that, but if there was a path to win, I think that might be his best one.

@RoldBoxing Also, Tyson’s real peak was 1988—a year before Lennox turned pro. And Tyson’s prime ended in 1991—when Lennox was still competing at Euro level. Yes, Tyson’s prime was super young. That happens sometimes to athletes who abuse hard drugs, have mental illness, and/or go to jail.

MAKING HISTORY. 🐐📈 The only fighters to remain undefeated in three consecutive championship fights across three different weight classes? Manny "PacMan" Pacquiao & Lamont Roach Jr. That is the level Roach is operating at. He is moving through divisions, taking the biggest fights, and refusing to lose. When you see his name, you are looking at greatness in the making.
