@locS022 @IsmailD99870399 @GodLogic_GL what type of meta ethics did Abraham subscribe to? How did he come to the realization that sacrificing his son was a morally okay thing to do?

If you ever wondered why Muslim apologists start boiling inside when you bring up moral objections to Muhammad, this is why. On the outside, Muslims pretend that Muhammad is the greatest man ever. Deep down inside, they know they're better than he is.

@locS022 @IsmailD99870399 @GodLogic_GL if you have good reasons to think that doing xyz will save you from eternal torment and give you eternal goodness, and you have evidence for that being true, a rational actor will do it.

@locS022 @IsmailD99870399 @GodLogic_GL yes. the abrahamic faiths are divine command theory based. abraham was instructed to violate his most fundamental moral intuitions and kill his own son. God allowed for something to take his place as a mercy, but the lesson is whatever God commands is just and correct

@studentindeen you know. i was totally wrong. it's always the shatt that's referenced. no other source uses the language this hadith does with respect to the location of basra in relation to the tigris.

I eat pork everyday and haven't cried yet. Disclaimer: Some of my medication uses porcine capsules and cannot be replaced, changed, or cut in anyway, must be consumed as-is.

@IjazTheTrini Because y’all cry when pork is in your presence.

@Ahraz__ @SCApologia i get that more people are gonna tune in to a video over reading or listening. but tbh, if you are a truth seaker evaluating the evidences for different truth claims, you should be willing to do some legwork

@Ahraz__ @SCApologia honestly live debates are stupid, where cooler minds don't prevail and the best arguments won't be put forward. written debates are the best, where extensive references can be provided, a lot more thought behind the arguments, etc

This might be the worst post I've seen: reddit.com/r/AcademicQura… I can understand why a lot of the Ahl Al Hadith group took Abu Hanifa to be a (especially Al Bukhari) "heretic" but to claim none of them changed their minds especially Malik is nothing but misreading the texts.

@CopticBoi @eraser0110 @Muhamma55910196 yeah. muslims throughout history, giant scholars rejected stuff in Bukhari and Muslim. Muslims aren't a monolith. you can literally look this stuff up, it's so basic level.

@CopticBoi @eraser0110 @Muhamma55910196 lmao. different scholars will classify different hadiths as sahih or less than sahih depending on different criteria. ilm al-rijjal works themselves differ in how they rate different people in the chain. so ofc, a muslim can reject what another muslim thinks is sahih.

@Oneubon4563 Do Muslim jinn observe the moon to know when to fast during Ramadan or do they wait to see when Allah chains the shayateen among them?

The Shayateen being chained in Ramadan only means the big ones are chained or all of them are restricted in their power, but it does not mean they are gone. The Prophet (SAW) said, "Shaitan flows through a human being like the flowing of blood," and he said this in Ramadan.

@eraser0110 @CopticBoi @Muhamma55910196 no serious hadith scholar will say the process of collecting and writing hadith is an inspired project. it is a human project. it's a very impressive and I think Muslims have preserved their founder and earliest generations teachings better than any other civilization

@eraser0110 @CopticBoi @Muhamma55910196 yes exactly. sometimes there actually may be contradictory hadith, but it's okay if they can't be reconciled. scholars can then grade the chains (even if both sahih) or look at contexts or corroborating reports, etc to judge which one to use in jurisprudence

@solamediaorg i don't get this obsession christians have with this "guarantee" of heaven. why are religions that don't have this element any less plausible than those that do have this element?

“[I asked this Muslim convert] does it not concern you that in this new faith of yours that you have no assurance of salvation? And her response is another one of these, these ‘aha moments,’ where she said, it doesn't bother me because Allah has already determined my fate.” Adam Francisco of @1517

After a decade on this platform, I have lost count of how many times I have been asked about the DQ question. Allow me to say that, to this day, the apologist scene did a pretty bad job responding to it. I don't want to know how many have left their faith due to it.
