@bseshadri @trramesh I think it is 2 different projects. Convention centre is near Muttukadu before Kovalam and in advanced stage of construction. It is government project. The other one may be Arivalayam which is DMK party project near Mamallapuram

If this is TN Govt undertaking, DMK has no role to play. Ex-CM Stalin or Ex-minister cannot loiter around there. If it is a private project (of DMK), then it is okay. As @trramesh says, if temple lands are being used for this, should be stopped immediately.

A convention centre named "Kalaignar Arivalayam" being built at a cost Rs. 550 Crores near Mahabalipuram. Public Works Department of TN Government is building it. Former Chief Minister @mkstalin inspected the ongoing works two days ago - in what capacity - I do not know. A news report in @the_hindu says that the project is waiting for 7.62 acres of land to be "transferred" by @tnhrcedept - it is obvious that these lands would either be Hindu Temple lands or Hindu Endowments' lands since the misfits in @tnhrcedept are aware that the Fraud Department has zero lands to offer or transfer. It seems @the_hindu newspaper is not aware. HR&CE Minister @RameshOffcl should take immediate steps to prevent alienation/transfer of lands of Hindu institutions for the purposes of convention hall named after anti-Hindu Karunanidhi. After all, the lands are said to be required for entrance arch, landscaping etc. of the convention hall. Not at all essential. Hindu Temple/Endowment lands are NOT sitting ducks to be taken by misfits, frauds and the corrupt. As a 7 Judge Bench of Hon'ble Supreme Court said in 1954 they are generally INALIENABLE.

Though the financial year closes on March 31 every year, the M book is kept open until April to record works carried out after end March but with back dated. No payment can be released after March 31st as it spills to next financial year. So amounts are paid in advance before the work is done.

The DVAC had registered a FIR yesterday (June 24, 2026) against former DMK Minister EV Velu and others on the basis of an April 2022 complaint lodged by Jayaram Venkatesan, Convenor of Arappor Iyakkam. The Tamil Nadu Government had accorded permission for the registration of the FIR on June 23, 2026. The complainant had alleged swindling of crores of rupees of public money without laying roads in State Highways department.

Are the former ministers and MLAS fools to keep every record at their official residence and places. Once they knew they were loosing, they could have moved the docs to safer places in May 1st week itself. Our Criminal Investigation system is TOTALLY OUTDATED AND Our COURTS will take DECADES to DECIDE.

What distinguishes the DMK from other political parties is that, despite being one of the most corrupt political parties, it remains unapologetic.
The DMK has also convinced chunk of its supporters, including a section of journalists that corruption is not an issue.

We had nauseating, disgusting levels of corruption in Tamil Nadu under the DMK. This is known to the entire Universe, not some grand secret. It reached such Himalayan heights, their own Finance Minister, someone not corrupt who was caught up with the corrupt crowd, was complaining about it (sadly for him his remarks became public and he was demoted to became the IT Minister). This is not about ideology. Even the Marxists of Kerala, then allied with the DMK, would say how deeply corrupt the DMK was. I have always appreciated people like Shri Balagopal, the former Finance Minister of Kerala, for his devoted public service. I am sure he and I will not agree on political philosophy or ideology but I deeply respect him. If the DMK truly wants to introspect, they must start with their corruption. Instead, they spend their time attacking a messenger like me as a TVK stooge or a Brahmin or a Sanghi and so on. May be they can study Kural 423: focus on the message, even if the message comes from a "Brahmin Sanghi TVK stooge" like me: எப்பொருள் யார்யார்வாய்க் கேட்பினும் அப்பொருள் மெய்ப்பொருள் காண்ப தறிவு.

Simple, if stringent conditions laid, Industrial houses had options to move out making the state to suffer and inviting TONS of criticism from within. Departments like PWD, EB, Prohibition, Highways use Budgetary allocation and hence plenty of chances for corruption and looting. Especially when both parties, A&D join hands and make it secret, only few people dare to expose the ROT

I think what we can generally conclude is that every single government in Tamil Nadu has kept industries and investments transparent and free of corruption.
Four decades ago, when Titan came to Tamil Nadu and was desperate to set up its factory in Hosur, the only condition laid down by the state government was that Titan should employ locals.
More than two decades ago, when Foxconn came to Chennai, the only requirement put forward by the state was that the company should employ more women.
It is quite unfortunate that other departments were not handled in the same way as the industries and investments department.

Our rural school Kalaivani Kalvi Maiyam, which provides completely free education to rural children, faced delays getting approvals from the previous government. Of course, significant money was demanded and we were told that was the only way, even if it is a completely free school. After @TVKVijayHQ came to power, approvals have happened quickly and automatically. I am very happy to appreciate this positive development in our state. Thank you Thiru Vijay Avl for this refreshing change🙏

Yes. Here I don’t visit any govt office. Everything is via email. Never been to bank for years except for getting some docs for UK and Europe visa, 2 years back. Everything is via Mobile Apps. No Tasildar office, No collector office, No secretariat, No Municipality/Corporation office. It is only MPs and Ministers who have scheduled visits to meet the people in their constituency EVERY MONTH at their housing blocks. Here people don’t visit Ministers office. When I visit Chennai 2-3 times a year everything is opposite. You have to run for everything.

What is really surprising is that Sridhar Vembu - irrespective of his political affiliations -has contributed enormously to the state of Tamil Nadu.
Even if money has been demanded from him, what hope is there for ordinary citizens?
What Chief Minister Vijay is trying to achieve by completely eliminating corruption in the state is truly significant. If it happens, it will be one of the best things to have happened to the state in the last few decades.
As the public, irrespective of political affiliations, all of us need to support this initiative of the Chief Minister.
