Like, a comprehensive plan w funding for high density housing, penalties on buying multiple units, FTHB credits, and sure, a handful of very specific parcels of land? Let's talk. But this?? C'mon guys. Get real.

So far, defenders of @BasedMikeLee ‘s proposal to sell off our public lands have latched onto two arguments: - The land is hard to access, remote, desolate, and unsuitable for anything and therefore won't be missed when it's sold - The land will only be used to build affordable housing and will not be sold off to corporations, mining or extraction companies, or rich people. Whatever your thoughts on selling our public land to pay for tax cuts (while refusing to cut spending and actually drastically increasing spending), it's concerning that the proposal's defenders are either too incompetent to put together a coherent set of arguments or that they care so little about the public's opinion of this that they can't even be bother to put together a coherent set of arguments. Land can either be suitable for housing (which means it has access to water and is close to population centers, stores, jobs, etc.) OR it can be remote, desolate, and of so little value that we won't miss it. It cannot be both.

@JDisJustin Update: Attempt 1 was a failure. I chalk it up to the fact that I wasn't able to cut up the big chunks into chips. I had the forethought to add a bit of vanilla to it, so it's not all for nothing, I've now got a gallon of vanilla ice cream!

10 years & about a month ago, I went on a podcast to talk about the Jazz with some new twitter acquaintances. This last weekend, we got together at @JDisJustin’s wedding to recreate the moment. So grateful for the people I’ve met here who have become lifelong friends.
