Worst thing about this World Cup is hearing football opinions from Americans

Congratulations to my colleague @CalvinBailey, someone with service, compassion, professionalism and principle at his core. A great appointment by the PM. As a former RAF officer, Calvin knows what he’s talking about. x.com/DefenceHQ/stat…

Just to clarify the numbers for accuracy. In May 1943 the Axis forces in North Africa numbering 250,000 to 275,000 men surrendered at cape Bon to the Allies. Three key battles occurred in 1942/43 - Alemein, Stalingrad and the Battle of the Atlantic. After these three it was clear that Germany had lost the war. The greater number of troops were engaged on the Eastern Front and the greater number of German troops were killed wounded and captured on that Front. Barbarossa was thrown off balance by the Balkan and Greek campaigns which included British and commonwealth troops who were sent from North Africa to bolster local forces. This campaign delayed Barbarossa by 5 to 6 weeks which proved decisive as it forced the campaign into the bitter winter without the Germans having planned to fight a winter war. Equally the British supplied Russia with essential supplies in particular machine tools which helped install the manufacturing in the Urals which made the vast amounts of equipment needed to win the war. It was a team effort with many countries doing their bit. The idea that "if it wasn't for the Americans we would all be speaking German" is nonsense. Germany was already defeated by the time their troops arrived in North Africa in November 1942. Equally without British and American aid Russia would have been over run in 1942. Without US aid Britain would have starved and if Churchill sued for peace in 1940 after Dunkirk America would have been forced out of the war by a joint Japanese German onslaught in 1941. Everyone did their bit, that's why we were called the Allies.

@igon_value @unherd @ClarkeMicah Largest navy in the world. Fully intact airforce. 95% of its army ready to fight with more training. Entire empire hasn't even arrived yet. Zero british territory taken. In what way was britain crushed and defeated?

On the day the whole political establishment claims we do not live in a two tier country, they announce this. Note, the NHS makes NO drugs available exclusively to white people.
