@EricTheveneau @eLife @UTexasILS @jihk99 @ZornLab Thanks! I didn't know about this relevant study. Interesting that they they report that the effect of SHH is likely non-canonical. We don't see changes with SANT but have thought this could be due to the timing in explants. Will need to reconsider how we are interpreting this!

@LabVokes @eLife @UTexasILS @jihk99 @ZornLab Reminds me of Jarov et al Dev Biol. 2003, where it was shown that Shh is required for a N-cadherin-dependent epithelialization of the neural plate/tube in quail embryos. Early neural plate spontaneously disperses, spreading is hindered by Shh as the plate matures into a tube

Our study showing that Hedgehog signaling is essential for maintaining the early foregut and larynx by preventing EMT was published: doi.org/10.7554/eLife.… @eLife. This was led by recent @UTexasILS graduate Janani Ramachandran with help from Hongkai Ji @jihk99 and @ZornLab.
