Lt Gen Susan Coyle is Chief of the Australian Army Her official records show - -no combat arms service -no personal weapon use in defence -no instances of being under enemy small arms fire A Chief of the Army who has never experienced direct combat action. Let that sink in. She does however do a wicked Welcome to Country, very often

OTO Melara ATAK-35 anti air platform, this prototype was made during the 1980’s. OTO had hoped the Italian Army would buy the system after testing, since they lacked modern AA at the time. Sadly no orders would be placed, real shame considering how useful these systems are today.

The F-5 started a movement. Its "lightweight" philosophy, along with the MiG-21, of course, became the blueprint for the F-16, currently the world's most prolific fighter. You can still see the F-5's DNA in the Swedish JAS-39 Gripen, the Indian Tejas, and the Pakistani JF-17, all jets that prioritize agility and cost over raw size. It’s rare for a 70-year-old design to still feel this relevant, but the F-5’s legacy is clearly baked into the very soul of modern airpower. 2/2

Back in the ’50s, when America was obsessed with making jet fighters bigger, heavier, and more expensive, Northrop decided to break the rules and go the other way. Northrop built the F-5 Freedom Fighter: a tiny, agile rebel that proved you didn't need a massive airframe or a bloated budget to be lethal. It was so effective that over 2,600 were built, serving with 37 different nations across the globe. It was the ultimate proof that "less is more" can work! 1/2

🚨 Mixed news on the INJURY front for #NUFC: 🤕 Fabian Schär has suffered an infection in his foot and will be out for another MONTH. 🇧🇷 Bruno Guimarães is back with the squad but won’t play at Crystal Palace on Sunday & is a doubt for Bournemouth next weekend. 👍🏽 Lewis Miley is back and set to be involved at Selhurst Park on Sunday.

It amuses me that the interim solution for the French Leclerc replacement through MGCS, which officials state is too far away is another KNDS design that is also yet undecided. That said I suspect it will be a French chassis using a French turret. 😉 breakingdefense.com/2026/04/france…

The number of U.S. troops wounded in the war with Iran now exceeds 370, according to a Pentagon tally. About two-thirds of those service members are in the Army.

Does anyone know if there’s any data on how to model the dispersion of urine dumps. Trying to figure out if a well timed emission could reach the moon.
