@ChrisMasterjohn Biologic will also require a biologic license and the 351 pathway through the FDA. Which will make it harder for anyone else to do the same thing

What’s funny about this is a “peptide” has an actual scientific definition whereas a “biologic” is a pseudoscientific term made up by pharma and regulators.

Just spoke to an HHS insider & man, Eli Lilly is going nuts with the peptide wars First of all, as we speak they are pushing the FDA to reclassify the glp-1s as biologics instead of peptides so that: 1. Compounding pharmacies can’t touch them, as they’re not allowed to dispense biologics. Only large manufacturers contracted by big pharma can produce biologics 2. They can extend the patents by 10-15 years min The FDA classifies anything under 40 amino acids a peptide, over 40 a biologic & they’re pushing extremely hard on Retatrutide Retatrutide sits at 39 amino acids, technically a peptide. But the argument they’re pushing is that certain side chains should be counted as amino acids, pushing it over the peptide threshold This strategy has precedent since pharma already used it to push fertility compounds like HCG, FSH & HMG into the biologic classification, removing them from the compounding pathway Patents expire, but the classification system doesn't

Literally the most common thing I see in SIBO besides low stomach acid,
Either the bile impairment led to the overgrowth or the bacteria themselves are leading to the bile being broken down.
Either way ensuring properly conjugated bile is a bigger lever than any antimicrobial.

In Nov I did 12:38 at 135.
Even a month ago I was happy with 10:20 at 135.

Darmor Club, about 1 hr west of Houston is a fantastic collection of template holes with great variety; short, long, dogleg right, left par 4’s and same thing with the par 3’s. Got to meet architect, @halsuttongolf after my round and talk about the course. Truly a special place!

So I want to comment a bit on what weight-independent glp1 effects actually means.
I think statements like this get interpreted as “it doesn’t really matter if you lose weight or not, you just have to hit the glp1 receptor.”
That’s not really accurate. There is basically no one in these trials that doesn’t lose some amount of weight. To truly test the degree to which the effects would be totally weight independent, you would have to force feed individuals to maintain weight neutrality. That never happens.
What it is saying is that the amount of weight someone loses doesn’t predict the amount of benefit seen in these endpoints like joint pain or psoriatic arthritis symptoms. I.e. someone who loses 20% of their body weight isn’t necessarily going to do better than someone losing 10%.
However, they all enter a caloric deficit, and it goes under appreciated how impactful going from a state of constant energy excess to constant negative energy status is on nearly every cell type and organ system.
The response of an individual to entering a net negative energy balance state is really what’s being addressed here, and it’s not really “weight independent” because weight loss is a de facto pre-requisite.
