@SambaD23222 @RadioFreeTom 30K IRGC, Savak and military soldiers were killed. We hit barracks, Savak buildings, IRGC locations..etc. Iran’s Navy is gone, it’s Air Force / defense gone. It’s domestic weapons manufacturing destroyed. Short of American forces conquering Teheran ….what more do you want?

@PaulCubbage23 I recall when Rizzo signed a decent 2b Murphy as FA from Mets and got three All Star years because Murphy became a hit it in the air fanatic. Interviewed about his new success he said “hit it in the air.” “That’s it?” “That’ it.”

@georgerlewis I’d rather save dollars for any big hitter contracts to make runs at Woods and CJ. Not sure there is room in Nats budget next three years for three pricy hitters, a rebuilt bullpen and some starting help. Risk is you may not get them of course.

I’ll maintain the Nats *should* be in on Adames or Chapman. Prospect cost will be minimal even if the Giants kick in cash. There’s just not enough quality FAs this offseason or next to spend smart money and get over any soft or hard floor. Get ahead of the market.
Buster Olney@Buster_ESPN

The Giants are open to offers for their three highest-paid position players — Rafael Devers, Willy Adames, Matt Chapman — among other obvious trade candidates, like Luis Arraez and Robbie Ray.

@IndySkinsFan I trust Quinn on this one. He put some effort into that locker room. Situation ears ugly. I did not like what I saw too much though

What exactly is the risk? This likely isn’t a Super Bowl team But what if BA returns to ‘23 form in a situation where he’s comfortable (QB, GM, players coach, non-diva WR1). He could become the 1B that does help this team become closer to a SB contender What’s to lose in 1 yr

These are some of the comments from @markschlereth on Aiyuk that we mentioned Thursday on @TEAM980 I appreciate these thouhts because Stink understands the overall point, which is why invite someone into the house you've built, who already has a lit match & is ready to drop it?

Trump and Vice President JD Vance both virtually signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Iran, a senior US administration official says Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf signed the document for the Iranian side, the official said. A formal signing ceremony will still occur on Friday

@dougherty_jesse Great insights on Tobo thanks. Would note if the Nats “just” nab a bullpen part they will be giving up whatever it took to get that player plus the two probably bottom part of the top 30 prospects their two FA SPs would likely net. Makes the pen help expensive.

That loss in San Francisco didn’t sink the upstart Nats. It’s now June 15 and they’ve still scored the most runs in the league. And what that means, more than anything, is that it’s shaping up to be a fascinating first deadline season for Paul Toboni: notus.org/sports/nationa…

@starsstrikesbb Might work out so that selling our two FA SPs at the deadline won’t look so bad if these returning folks need a look.

Lots of interesting decisions for the Nationals pitching staff when DJ Herz returns, especially if Jake Irvin also comes back fairly soon: Does Herz slide into Alvarez's rotation spot? Or slide into the piggyback role Mitchell Parker currently holds? What about if Irvin returns? Do the Nationals send Parker and PJ Poulin to Rochester and have Alvarez and Herz as the lefty relievers? Do they leave one stretched out as a starter at Rochester? Does Zack Littell get bumped into a piggyback role so one can stay in the MLB rotation? (Or does Irvin?) Oh, and Jackson Kent also doesn't look like he's far away from deserving a look himself Super fascinating to see how it all plays out.
Spencer Nusbaum@spencernusbaum_

DJ Herz said he will be making a rehab start in Fredericksburg tomorrow and Sunday. He said he feels close — his stuff looks “almost the same, or better.”

@DCBerk @NavyYardNats Plus 25 million (I think) in new equipment/toys. Throwing a bunch of money at a 70 win team often gets you the Mike Trout Angles with big payrolls and few playoffs.

They invested some already by spending millions of dollars in completely reinventing the organization’s player development at all levels, which was nonexistent under previous regime. This year is all about showing ownership that there is a strong foundation worth investing in, which is going better than expected thus far.

@AJ_Lich All true. My hunch is he trades for his top pitcher like the Os did. Not sure if that’s this off-season or next. Labor agreement will probably decide that.

@NealCabral You’re gonna have to take on some uncomfortability with any free agent pitcher. As for the latter part, it’s kinda impossible to know what Toboni will or won’t go for right now.

I expect a reunion with TOR, but in a weak FA market, Gausman would be a nice show of intent for Toboni/Lerner's: - No QO - Likely 3 year deal - Has remained incredibly durable/consistent - Excellent strike thrower, but will miss plenty of bats w/ splitter - Top rotation option

@nashunals CBA may make Learners spend and a lot to hit a salary floor if added. That money can go to Adam’s and or Wood. Nats are attractive spot for those two compared to most of the other teams that will be spending to hit the salary floor.

Much has been learned for Toboni evaluating the Nats. 1. Offensive can compete as a contender 2. Needs pitching 3. Many top prospects CBA will impact the economics of the game. IMO, one thing seems certain. It’s time for Lerners to invest for Nats to contend. And they can.

@federalbaseball The short answer seems to be they think they can fix guys, and if guys show progress in getting fixed and playing in a way that makes them valuable the Nats will stick with them to get them back to where they were. Once you show a skill you own it I guess.

@WonzoTV He’s my pick and that is why. I have been persuaded by several articles on him plus the nerd love for him. Elite efficiency and elite passing means most of your teams possessions are good ones.

@UVAHooGirl You sell unless they are really in WC (and not one of 5 teams fighting for one spot as now). If they are really in it it probably sends a terrible message to ignore the players achievements just because they don’t fit the timeline. Then you do some face saving buying

The Nats are WILDLY out preforming expectations and are in the conversation (at the moment) for a WC spot. But their needs are not a simple fix. So play GM - what do you do? Buy or sell? Sell who/how much? What are you buying and what are you willing to give up for it?

@TheCurlyWDude Hard to imagine Tobo took this job with those types of restriction from ownership. I think/guess they will hang onto Adams until labor deal is done. If Nats have to spend 40-60 mill to hit a new salary floor Adams is a good place to spend thry money.

@NealCabral You can do both…be buyers & sellers. I’ll be shocked if Abrams, Garcia, Griffin, Littell & Beeter aren’t traded. Zero chance this ownership group extends Abrams. I am Shocked they haven’t sold already.
