If dynamic typing is so good, why do people keep adding static types to dynamically typed languages?

@ChShersh New languages are created by third parties - and all of these are still less popular than the original. Also, MyPy is just a static checker using hints, it's nothing close to static typing , and it's popularity is weaning after some novelty spike usage.

@SRFielding72 Reactionary is part of the performative culture. People seem to think if what they are saying isn't sensational then it isn't worth saying.

maybe people are used to awful programming languages and therefore assumes that kotlin must also be awful :( sad

@SRFielding72 @IanColdwater Firing everyone responsible for content moderation probably has that effect too.
When people suggest adding user forums or comments to an app, I push back unless they've a moderation strategy.
Twitter without mods is absolutely deranged.
