Ok for those of you that haven't figured it out I got my wings clipped and they weren't gentle about it- so there's not going to be much posting on social media anymore and only on very specific subjects. I can leave but Kaidi can't so we're just going to follow the new rules and that's that. Nothing personal if I don't like and reply like I used to. I'll be focusing on the store and the occasional video. Thanks for understanding, it was fun while it lasted.

@petematheson 40+ per video. Content about actually "Making" things is so much harder to break even on. You not only have all the video production but also the project & filming good coverage of that is also time intensive. It is rare I am under 40 hours on a single video.

I'd be interested to hear how long creators spend on each video? I roughly spend around 2-4 hours scripting and researching each video. 1-2hrs shooting A-roll 2hrs shooting B-roll 1.5hrs shooting thumbnails I feel like I should be spending way more time on scripting!

I'm not a "wood person" but wax turned out to have the nicest finish of everything I tested on 3D printed wood. Although it is all *very* labor intensive😅

I've been talking to Chinese and foreign friends at the markets for @bunniestudios and my "New Essential Guide to Electronics in Shenzhen" which led to this amusing tidbit of advice for the "Weather and Dressing" section😂 "Chinese tend to sweat quite a bit less, so on a sweltering day, you may encounter somewhat panic-stricken staff urgently pressing you to accept paper tissues as if you’ve sprung a leak and are about to expire. If you ignore the issue, they will stare at you in horrified fascination for the duration of the meeting. A cloth handkerchief deals with the issue easily and elegantly. Don’t blow your nose with it."

TWO YEARS later it seems someone finally stepped on the plug and broke it. As shown in the photos the metal prong of the plug broke off and was then lodged in the socket, effectively a live wire ⚡️ ⚡️ ⚡️ sticking out of the floor! (6/11)

It is, and a very serious one in China, but sometimes for home invasion, they will still try. We have very limited use of force permitted for self-defense, so if they push their way into your home pretending to be police, there's very little you can do legally. Of course, husbeard is there but that's more a problem than a solution since they can sue for compensation for whatever he does to them. Best to keep them out.

@justwalk Can you imagine any city of 17 million people in the World having NO contact point for their largest English-speaking influencer? It's bizarre. In a country of 1.4b I have one of the highest social media profiles in the West- and there's no backchannel, nothing. Makes zero sense.
