Waking up to the news of our pilot being rescued it made me think two things. First, hats off to all involved especially the evasion and perseverance of the downed pilot. Second, this should illustrate the major difference placed on the value of human life between the participants. One will slaughter 40 thousand of its own people for protesting. The other will risk multiple airframes and hundreds of personnel to save one life. I know which side I’m on.

Tonight, people around Dehdasht provided an important help to the American pilot. By showing up in large numbers on the roads, they effectively blocked the ONLY POSSIBLE ground route for the Islamic regime’s forces to reach to the area the pilot had ejected on. I am so proud of these noble people❤️. With empty hands and their lives in their hands isolated with NO INTERNET FOR 36 days now, they are doing everything they can to support this military strike as it is the ONLY opening they can have to GET RID of this terrorist regime, which they can never get rid of unarmed AS THEY ARE. #FreeIran#IranRevolution2026#LongLiveIran_JavidShah

That location confirmed by @andynovy is just 50km from the City Centre of Isfahan, a city with about 2.2m Inhabitants. The IRGC cant prevent an enemy ad-hoc Airfield half an hour drive from one of the largest cities in country.

@Poppersghost @Mohsin_o2 2 C-130s, 1 F-15, 2-3 Blackhawks, 2 A-10s. Still counting lol. The WSO is also probably dead, killed by his own guys. And American lies are up the wazoo.

@Mohsin_o2 LMAO refueling base only 50km in Iran. This sounds like bullshit they are making up after losing 2 C-130s there. This was a huge disaster for the Americans and they are lying out the roof.

31,000 km sounds like a safe distance. It isn't in orbital mechanics terms, it's a near miss measured in minutes. Apophis is 370 metres wide. The asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs was 10 km. Apophis wouldn't end civilisation it would erase a city and everything within several hundred kilometres of impact. The real concern isn't 2029. Earth's gravity will bend Apophis's trajectory during the flyby, creating what scientists call a keyhole! a narrow region in space. If Apophis passes through a specific keyhole in 2029, gravitational mechanics locks in an impact trajectory for 2036. We won't know if it threads that keyhole until it happens. DART proved we can redirect asteroids. Apophis is the first real test of whether we built that capability fast enough. :-Via NASA/JPL Planetary Defense

In 2029, Apophis, a ~370m asteroid, will pass just ~31,000 km from Earth. That’s ~1/10 the distance to the Moon. Inside the orbit of geostationary satellites. Visible to the naked eye. Impact risk this time is low, but the flyby could shift its future trajectory. A direct hit would mean a ~1 km crater and regional devastation. That’s why becoming multiplanetary matters.

@Poppersghost @thinkdefence Please, stop recycling these propaganda points. Most of the engineers maintaining Ukrainian ICBMs were Ukrainian. They couldn't have maintained the entire nuclear aresenal, but they definitely could've kept enough warheads to become untouchable.

NATO is not just a general purpose alliance, it has geographic extents and boundaries. Many in the US seem not to understand this.

@watchingferries @thinkdefence Yes, the benefits of freedom of navigation and the trade it facilitates are massive. But the administration in power has built a base out of a constituency that has benefited the least from that trade, at least in the US.

@DrPistolero @thinkdefence Nuclear warheads have life cycles. The warheads in question were never under direct Ukrainian control. Even if you maintain that they were, the Ukrainians didn’t have the facilities to maintain them beyond twenty years.

@Poppersghost @thinkdefence US pressed really hard for Ukraine to give up their nuclear weapons, signing GUARANTEES for their territorial integrity. If we want to be legalistic. Also, most of the NATO countries help Ukraine not because of NATO santiment, but because we all hate Russian imperial ambitions.

Israel is now more dangerous than Nazi germany was. A deep ideological hatred of all around them with a desire to seize lands. Fully armed by the West and with legal impunity. Nuclear armed and a total religious supremacist outlook. The most dangerous entity to ever exist.
