I just finished an offensive line manual I wish I had early in my career. Not more plays. Not more scheme. Just a simple system: – Indy – Technique – Combos – Fixes – Friday adjustments No fluff. Comment “OL” and I’ll send it.

“When you allow your children to grow up it’s a direct, direct reflection of your parenting. If you hover over them all the time and they can’t work through problems, they’re going to have some issues. You’ve got to let them work through problems because they’re working through the things you’ve instilled in them,” Dawn Staley Let them learn.

"Your job as a coach is to coach your players. If their parents and their friends are getting mad because you're getting yelled at, get better parents and better friends." Coaches aren't calling you out. They're calling you up! Build connections so they hear the corrections.

I never thought I was raised by low income parents during a time when almost everyone treated each other with respect. We didn't eat a lot of fast food because it was considered a treat, not a food group. We drank Kool-Aid made from water that came from our kitchen sink with real sugar. We ate bologna sandwiches, or even tuna (which was in a can not a pouch), PB&J & , hot dogs, but mostly homemade meals consisting of mainly dough, meat, potatoes, vegetable, bread & butter, and homemade dessert. We grew up during a time when we mowed lawns, pulled weeds, babysat, helped neighbors with chores to be able to earn our own money. We went outside a lot to play games, ride bikes, red rover, dodge ball, run with siblings, and friends & played hide and seek. We drank tap water from the water hose outside... bottled water was unheard of. If we had a coke -it was in a glass bottle ... and we took the empties back to the store for a 5 cent deposit. We watched TV shows like Bonanza, Leave It To Beaver, Gilligan's Island, Happy Days, Bewitched, The Brady Bunch, Little House On The Prairie, and I Love Lucy. After school, we came home, and did homework, and chores before going outside or having friends over. We would ride our bikes for hours. We had to tell our parents where we were going, who we were going with, and what time we'd be back. You LEARNED from your parents instead of disrespecting them, and treating them as if they knew absolutely nothing. What they said was LAW, and you did not question it, and you had better know it!!! When the sun was starting to set you had better be home. In school we said the Pledge of Allegiance, we stood for the National Anthem, and listened to our teachers, also had prayer each morning. We watched what we said around our elders because we knew if we DISRESPECTED any grown-up we would get our behinds whipped, it wasn't called abuse, it was called discipline! We held doors, carried groceries, and gave up our seat for an older person without being asked. You didn't hear curse words on the radio in songs or TV, and if you cursed and got caught you had a bar of soap stuck in your mouth, and had to stand in the corner. “Please, Thank you, yes please no thank you yes ma'am no ma'am yes sir, and no sir were part of our daily vocabulary! Re-post if you're thankful for your childhood, and will never forget where you came from & the time you came from! ❤

Stop being a hater. Tell that team to come out and guard the ball. No one is antagonizing anyone, the other kid can pump up the crowd if they want too. They winning the game, let them be happy. If the shoe was on the other foot you wouldn’t be making this post.

This is Milwaukee Juneau HS and Head Coach Torre Johnson Jr holding the ball with a two point lead for 90 seconds with seven minutes on the clock. Parents, send your kids to be coached by ethical and fair men, not ones teaching your kids to antagonize

North America’s oldest continuously used rink, the Calumet Colosseum, has been at the heart of hockey and community for over a century. From the echo of ice skates to the rush of roller skates, it's where tradition and the unexpected meet... 🔗visitkeweenaw.com/the-crossing-p…

Name a player — not named Derek Jeter or Cal Ripken Jr. — that you respect the most for staying loyal to one team for their entire career. In an era of constant movement, those guys are rare. Who’s your pick? 👇⚾ Bonus points if you watched them their whole career.

@nextlevelbb My son's 12u coach told him it wasn't his time. His time was coming. My son took that as a challenge and has worked at his game he'll probably never play past hs and that's fine. He learned to work at whatever he was doing. Hardwork beat talent when talent don't work hard!

The best 12u player I've ever seen didn't play a day of college baseball and was average as grits as a high school player. As a 12u he hit 28 homers in a 16 game season and was unhittable on the mound. He threw gas at 12. Why didn't he get better? He and his parents thought he was a superstar and thought they invented baseball. They let 12u success absolutely destroy his career. This happens with players of all ages. I watch high school players that are ranked really high and committed to P5 programs that absolutely stink. They were good at one time compared to their peers. But now a lot of their peers are better baseball players than them. Why? It's because they let an ounce of early success absolutely destroy their career. They believed the hype, they thought the rankings were real. Their parents believed the hype. The people around them believed the hype and nobody told the kid the truth. The kid turned into the high school big leaguer instead of the real big leaguer.

Bernie "Boom Boom" Geoffrion was one of the best players in NHL history but he was often overshadowed. When he won the Art Ross Trophy, Montreal fans booed him. It took 40 years for Montreal to retire his number, which happened on the day he died. This is his story. 🧵 1/12

Surgery was a success. A new and improved shoulder is on the way. Excited to be able to shoot a basketball more than ten times without being in tremendous pain. Soon I’ll be able to pick up my kids, put on a jacket, and sleep through the night without discomfort! Not bad for someone “soft”. Ready to attack this thing. Thanks to Dr Brain Cole for the successful procedure.

@RaygoRick Gotta get in the building for a session! It's great on TV, but incredible live. The energy in that building - if a game is close late - is unreal. Both games yesterday were electric.
