Groups decry alleged forced eviction of Makoko community vanguardngr.com/2026/01/groups… Halt the assault on Makoko. The poor have a right to shelter. #SaveMakoko

Some affected Circular road project people with support from the opposition party and some stakeholders with political ambitions who prefer presenting fact wrongly just to cast aspersion on the Seyi Makinde led government in Oyo state blocked state and federal roads, secretariat, etc in the name of protest, they even went wild with raining curses on the government and turning these roads or protest location to a cookathon location. Despite all their actions making life unpleasant for others, the state government did not move police to harass or intimidate them like they do for Oworonshoki communities in Lagos. This shows that the Seyi Makinde led administration in Oyo state is a respecter of rule of law, he believes in citizens fundamental human right to express their opinion, views through lay down rules under the law. Hopefully, the real people who are affected by the road infrastructure will keep on having faith on the government and wait for him to come to their communities as promised to engage them and find a lasting solution to the corridor problem. God bless Oyo state. God bless Nigeria.
