@danvers616 Tough position to be in: she’s too much of a powerhouse to just believe she’d meekly stay in prison forever, but at the same time, what do you DO with her that wouldn’t just be the same story again.
She should randomly show up on a team of non-mutant X-Men villains one day.

fun fact: There’s an alt universe Carol whose reality was destroyed. She then traveled from reality to reality, killing dozens of versions of Rogue and any versions of Carol that forgave her, before being stopped by 616 Carol. She is presumably still bald & in SHIELD custody.

Batman #424 is a goated issue and the ambiguous dark ending is why I’ll always say that Jason Todd should’ve remained a villain when he came back as Red Hood.

@jujuman404 @Exalted_Speed Honestly, Spider-Man and Punisher weren’t really at odds very much during this period. When they met, Spidey would give his little speech about not killing, Frank would temporarily switch to rubber bullets, and then they’d go about their team-up.

Do you think the reason solo started appearing more was because maybe Marvel didn't their top hero constantly being at odds with one of their other top sellers which is Punisher?

Kind of, I also think him and Solo were trying to compete for that slot if I'm going to be honest.

I get what you’re saying and I agree…
But the Godfather novel just absolutely BODIES the movie. Yeah they describe Sonny’s dick a lot, still some amazing sequences in it.

Every once in a while, you discover that people with strong opinions about movies don’t seem to actually watch *any* movies. Read “Jaws” or “The Godfather”, watch the movies and then come back and talk about “faithfulness in adaptation.”

@heckblazers Listen, it's not as good as Preacher, that's for sure. But it's written by the same guy, and the guy has proven that he knows plot, he knows character dynamics, he knows emotion.
You might dislike it, but you do yourself a disservice not to find out.

“go to hell” is basic. “i hope your favorite character is beloved by both the writer and artist of the comic he’s in, only to be horribly mischaracterized and forgotten about after the authors switch” is smart. it’s terrifying. it happened to him…

@oddtheweird @loser_lenny It's actually kinda funny how this is basically what happened to IDW in the beginning:
20-something-ish issues of a very good run with a strong authorial voice and a fresh take on the material, followed by a switch to a completely "fine" but comparatively unremarkable approach.

@_Godotto He's absolutely right, but at the same time, he'd be a lot better off not swinging at every pitch like this. Getting involved in continuity discussions with fans is not gonna sell a single extra ticket.

The character has officially been either Shazam or The Captain since 2011. A comic calling him Captain Marvel again is notable, that’s why the thread starter mentioned it.

To avoid any confusion, Marvel holds the *trademark*, so DC can’t publish any titles or toys under the *name* Captain Marvel. They’ve always been able to use the name *in* the comics.
And hopefully this illustrates why it pisses me off so much that they FUCKING WEREN’T
