The narrative that the Montreal anti Israel protests had an antisemitic effigy of a Jew is faulty. The effigy appeared to be of Ben Gvir, and was paraded along with effigies of Trump and Netanyahu. This is political extremism, but I don't think it can be called antisemitic.

What happens if they print so much money that a Starbucks coffee costs $300 while simultaneously not letting short term rates go up? Your principal gets destroyed. Your equity portfolio might not buy you as many coffees but it’s going to “go up” a lot in nominal terms. Your bonds and T-Bills will only buy you a small fraction of the coffees they once did.
Nic@nicrypto

Why would you own stocks when bonds now pay almost the same? That's the question the market is starting to ask. The "equity risk premium" which is the extra return you get for taking the risk of owning stocks vs safe government bonds, has nearly disappeared. It's at the lowest level since the dot-com bubble burst in 2000. Stocks are only barely beating bonds on expected returns. But stocks can lose everything. Bonds won't.

@harleyf @wolfejosh Hey @MarkJCarney, how about you stop summarizing your calls with Herzog and do something. Hard to call this a first world country.

Big shift in narrative. Good for the complex. We’ve been doing same at Third Point from operations, deal process in credit and equity research. Total game changer.

A big pivot from Ken Griffin on AI: “Number one is, in the last few months, there has been a step change in the productivity of the AI toolkit. It is profoundly more powerful than it was just nine months ago. And for us at Citadel, that has allowed us to unleash a much broader array of use cases for AI. And it has been really interesting to watch, to be blunt, work that we would usually do with people with masters and PhDs in finance over the course of weeks or months being done by AI agents over the course of hours or days. These are not these are not mid-tier white collar jobs. These are like extraordinarily high skilled jobs being, I'm going to pick a word, automated by agentic AI. And I gotta tell you, I went home one Friday actually fairly depressed by this because you could just see how this was going to have such a dramatic impact on society. When you witness it in your own four walls, when you see work that used to be man years of work being done in days or weeks, it's like, wow, like that's the first time I've seen real impact in our four walls.” This echoes my own experience with agents and the conversations I am having with students, friends & clients. The toolkit has dramatically transformed and it feels like in finance, for the first time, AI is real.

Israel established a secret military base in the Iraqi desert to assist in airstrikes on Iran, and even attacked Iraqi forces that nearly exposed the base. It was used by special forces and served as a logistical hub for the Air Force (Wall Street Journal).

There is still time to become a butterfly Dan, but it would require you to get out of your cocoon of confirmed biases; there is a reason why they like Zohran and if it’s not fixed it will worsen. Don’t stay a 🐛 Dan.

I talk to people on Wall Street every day. I have heard some belly aching about the President from time to time, but I have literally not once heard a single person say they regret voting for Trump or, "gee, if only Kamala had won, we would be so much better off." Bloomberg News laments any of the advances our country is making for fear that they might reflect well on the @POTUS and all their news is reported through a lens of severe TDS. bloomberg.com/features/2026-…

People are so short term focused on oil, not realizing what AI is doing to employment. Massive deflationary pressures coming.

At a time when too many choose silence or hesitation, being an upstander matters. It means calling out hate directly. It means standing shoulder to shoulder with the Jewish community, not only in moments of tragedy, but every day, rooted in our shared values for a stronger, safer, and more dignified Canada. That is the Mulroney family, honoured by Tel Aviv University as the 2026 Changemakers. From the legacy of the Rt. Hon. Brian Mulroney to the generations of leadership within the Mulroney family that carry it forward today, theirs is a legacy of diplomacy, principle, and decency, one that has helped shape Canada, strengthen our relationship with our democratic ally, Israel, and continues to set a standard for leadership grounded in conviction and unwavering resolve. With more than $2.5 million raised in support of the Brian Mulroney Chair at Tel Aviv University, this legacy will continue to advance learning, leadership, and the values he championed throughout his life. Because that is our Canada, and one we can all be proud of. Congratulations my friends.

Netanyahu: "I had an excellent conversation with President Trump. He is pressuring Iran very hard, economically and militarily. We have started a process to achieve a historic peace between Israel and Lebanon. It is clear to us that Hezbollah is trying to sabotage it."

@AssetTraveller @OmarYKhan It’s not only significantly less, but if you’re employed by a good company, they’re likely covering 75-100% of the cost, and the care is better. Also, cars are cheaper, travel abroad is cheaper. Houses used to be cheaper but no more.

@OmarYKhan It is significantly less than the difference. This is a discussion on math. Canada has advantages but the math is getting overwhelming. The brackets need to be stretched out for the long term health of Canada. 🇨🇦

Toronto Canada vs Florida USA tax 366k USD (500k CAD) in Canada pays $109k more in tax per year than if in Florida. 275k CAD in Canada pays $53k more in tax. Uncompetitive, gets worse as income increases.
