@entitlement4all @SunTzu544b @jonburkeUK They're building 150-200 new reactors within the next 10 years. You don't do that if wind and solar is winning, you do it if wind and solar have disastrous consequences.

Britain’s clean, secure energy success story is being noticed across the world! 🇬🇧⚡️♻️ For the first time in decades, we’re a leader not a follower, yet all Farage, Badenoch, the Daily Telegraph, & the rest of Britain’s right wingers do is talk the country down.
Prof. Karl Lauterbach@Karl_Lauterbach

@jonburkeUK Yeah because the Germans are still trying to delude themselves they can live without nuclear power - they can't. They need to learn from our gross and catastrophic error and get Siemens back in the game.

That doesn't make really any sense. If we have mass energy abundance (which we're not going to get with solar fwiw) we can do universal no income, but.. That's off in a world of people who take Star Trek too seriously and in the wrong way and miss key points.

Universal HIGH INCOME via checks issued by the Federal government is the best way to deal with unemployment caused by AI. AI/robotics will produce goods & services far in excess of the increase in the money supply, so there will not be inflation.

@rocklist_net @StevenJonMiller That's the problem - and every time he speaks he confirms it. Which is really sad because he's saying the right things otherwise - if he believed what he said he'd be the only choice.

The idea that the country exists to pay civil servants to regulate business out of existence is Socialism It's why the country is broken and why 14 years of Tories achieved nothing Once we have a Capitalist Society again, looking after pensioners is a thing worth doing.
Luke Robert Black 🌳@lukerobertblack

The suggestion to end or reform the Triple Lock is quite ostensibly *not* socialism. If anything, it is fiscal conservatism and a very obvious reduction in the size of the state. The Conservative party isn’t “dying” either, we are 3% behind you in the polls today!

@MarieTidball Since when is Farage or Tice a Tory - and buying these people brand-new houses for them to live in which local populations couldn't possibly buy isn't better than using hotels. They should be deported, this isn't difficult.

You won't hear a peep about this from Farage, Tice or Jenrick. Under the Tories, up to 400 hotels were being used to house asylum seekers. With Labour, there are now just 185, with 11 more hotels re-opening to the public, saving the taxpayer £65 million a year.
Alex Norris MP@AlexJJNorris

There were more than 400 asylum hotels under the previous government – that number has been more than halved, with 11 more closing this week. Labour is bringing the asylum system under control.

@AcademicAgent_X I'd rather save judgement on that for when we actually leave the EU - because we aint yet. That's why we're being dragged down with them into economic collapse and pure stupidity.

@b280c_2 For example, the kerb weight for the base model of the Corsa-e is 1,455 kg, versus the heaviest petrol version at 1,237 kg, and that's smallest versus biggest, it's very significantly different.

@b280c_2 It's definitely accurate. IDK if it has to be - there's just a general problem with regulations making cars weigh more, buying anything less than an SUV is a total waste of time. He likes EVs, he isn't lying, what he's saying is provably true.

Someone is going to need to help me with this. When the Iranians were blockading the Strait of Hormuz that was bad, but now the US are doing it, it's good. What am I missing? Can someone from America explain the geopolitical strategy here? Or is someone just long on oil?

@Hepworthclare Ignoring the plainly obvious fact that we never had austerity, absolute nonsense all round. Rachel Reeves took a struggling but functioning economy and drove it into the ground. Now the consequences start.

Mel. Britain is weaker because of 14yrs of Tory ineptitude which gave us Austerity, a Tory/LD Coalition, Brexit, a fraught DUP arrangement, a politically badly managed pandemic, five PMs - one of whom lasted 49 days & trashed the economy & an endless round of Cabinet ministers.
Mel Stride@MelJStride

Britain is weaker because of Starmer, Reeves and Miliband's choices. Tax hikes and Labour’s net zero obsession are driving up costs and hitting families in the pocket. Only the @Conservatives will 👉🏻 Scrap VAT on energy bills 👉🏻 Get Britain Drilling in the North Sea 👉🏻 Axe the Fuel Tax Hike 👉🏻 Cut energy bills by £200 👉🏻 Deliver a stronger economy and a stronger country

@Adebayo3555981 @prestonharty @elonmusk Neither of those things are really true - the secret sauce is the launch capability and the fact we've moved on 30 years since Iridium launched. The launch gives you the ability to spam sats into the space and the 30 years gives you so much off the shelf high speed comms tech.

@TracyBrabin @UKLabour No such thing as "free" breakfast clubs. Someone has to pay. Northern Powerhouse Rail investment will go the same way as house building. NHS waiting lists - hardly shifting after almost 2 years. Online Protections means banning everything.
