KU was a one seed 4 years ago. Yes, losing to Arkansas was tough. But that team was good!

Bill Self is done. He should never coach another game for KU. He’s the greatest CBB maybe ever, but he hasn’t put out a product up to KU standards for 4 straight years now. It is over, cut your losses, move on and go aggressively after the top D1 coaches.

@bturner23 Besides making it predictable for SJU (no chance that we might foul at an unexpected time, since we gave them all at half court), it took away the better usage of those fouls of causing disruption to SJU half court offense. Felt like mechanical rather than strategic deployment.

Nitpicking here but I hated how quickly they fouled on the first few fouls when they had a bunch to give. They were fouling St John’s right after the catch 90 feet away from the basket…make them dribble it to half court. There legitimately could’ve been a scenario where they fouled them enough & wasted enough clock that the time just expired and went to OT

@kutweetsandnews The Self approach of crazy rigorous non-con scheduling made some sense pre-realignment. It no longer has value (and is probably detrimental) when you may face top 10 teams 6 times during B12 play. You're inviting multiple unnecessary Ls when you already will have a tough SOS.

I’ve always found that playing a tough non-con does NOTHING for you.
If you win, it doesn’t matter cause it was so early. If you lose, they count it against you and you can’t develop your bench in those games.
Ask the 2008 Jayhawks. Played no ranked teams outside of USC on the road who was like 23 I think.
