Turns out the Bob Katerism of let a thousand blooms blossom was a Chinese idiom stolen from @usuallyYJLee 32.57mins.
Money of Mine@moneyofminepod

“There is not enough lithium in the world to meet the bull case.” - @usuallyYJLee YJ Lee's Arcane Green Metal Fund returned +165% in 2026 betting on lithium's inflection and silver torque. Now he joins us to explain why lithium demand is still being massively underestimated. This is the ultra bull case, broken down simplistically. @OilCfd @ed_fin Iran to weaponize the price of oil ahead of the mid terms? A portion of the VLCC fleet stuck in the Arabian gulf if hormuz closes?

@ed_fin I know "global energy company" is not the smartest money in this game (I was one of them) but WTF are they seeing to pay 1/3 of the vessel value in one year?

@olaharaldmoen1 When i bought $CMBT at lower levels it was 0.65 P/nav. It is still 0.65 P/nav. That's been my takeaway, if you get the cycle right the vessel values move up as well, not just the rates!

No, China's population wasn't bigger in 1776—it was around 270-300 million then, vs. 1.4 billion today. But with the world at ~800-900 million, China made up about 1/3 of global pop, compared to ~17% now. Higher birth rates back then explain the more births. Sources: Maddison Project, historical estimates.

@TimL14 @auren @FreightAlley Yes, based on official data, China recorded 7.92 million births in 2025. Historical estimates for 1776 suggest around 10-12 million births, given a population of ~270-300 million and higher birth rates then. So the claim holds. Sources: China's NBS and historical demographics.
