Very large hospitals can employ a surgical team specifically for emergencies - shift work - but the model doesnt work for smaller systems.

I was just offered 50/hr. To work as trauma surgeon on call for 24 hours.

Hospitals don’t want to pay for call but they do. It’s fair market value and standard of care. So how much do you get paid for the emergency surgeries? Dr Floch claims he’s getting paid $50 even if he has to operate. Which means his either a liar or the dumbest surgeon in the planet.

Hospital doesnt want to pay for call anymore. Top 10 execs make double my salary

@ReiffRN @NeilFlochMD That’s literally not what he said ma’am. It’s 50/hr to do nothing. Just be on call. That’s how “on call” pay works. If he comes in he likely gets paid much much more.

American Doctors are woefully underpaid and overworked. Most profits flow to the executives and other grifts. Doctor salaries are barely a rounding error.

@Cernovich I am a physician here in South Carolina and i can say with certainty that a huge population of native English speaking, USA born citizens are on medicaid or have no insurance. Most work. Dollar General notoriously calls employees managers so they are salaried & on medicaid.

For a family of 4, Obamacare costs the price of a mortgage. Illegal immigrants free healthcare via a) Medi-Cal and other state plans. b) Using the ER as a doctor's visit knowing they'll never pay. Healthcare costs would go down by half overnight with mass deportations.

@Cernovich nah, you're wrong here. They'll go after billionaires, then they'll do the millionaires. Next will be lawyers/doctors making $300K. Finally, they'll come after those making $120K or more. Eventually, they'll do special "EQUITY TAXES" for anyone making over $1K weekly.

Hollowing out the middle class, which the billionaire class supported, is how a wealth tax is possible. “But they’ll come for YOU next!” This doesn’t work when it’s massive wealth, a huge fallout to imported third world’ers, which the billionaire class also supported.

We have made it all but impossible for young families to join the middle class in America. Let alone to save money and build wealth. $2300 per month for daycare. $1800 for the mortgage on a starter house, plus another $700 for property tax and insurance. $1000 for a car payment, insurance, and gas. $1000 to $1500 for groceries, $2000 for bare bones health insurance. $500 for utilities and a cell phone. Add it all up, you’re at close to $10k per month, just for basic essentials. After paying federal and state taxes, you need to gross $150k+ per year. And that’s just for surviving. It doesn’t include saving for emergencies, retirement, medical expenses (remember, that bronze-tier insurance plan comes with a $10k family deductible!), college tuition. It certainly doesn’t leave anything for charity, home improvements, date nights, or an occasional vacation. $150k. A number we used to think of as having “made it,” now the bare minimum to afford name-brand diapers and a car that won’t fall apart in a minor fender bender. Is it any wonder why young people are putting off getting married and starting families? Why the political center is falling and Gen Z is racing for the political extremes, left and right alike? Are we surprised that the rampart daycare fraud in Minnesota is so offensive to people? When taxpaying American citizens have to take home a middle-management salary just to keep their lights on? I’m all for pulling yourself up by your bootstraps. On an individual level, it’s great advice—we all have a responsibility to live within our means, take ownership of our lives, and build the lives we dream for our families. No one else will do it for us, nor should we expect them to. But, on a societal level, if we don’t make it affordable for people—especially young people—to lead decent lives, we’re simply not going to make it. And I’m not sure we even deserve to do so.

@Cernovich For some, it’s their only way out of poverty and provides direction and discipline, while steering them out of a desolate situation. They sign up knowing their life may be at risk, but hope it’s for the right reason. I question the last line regarding the past 30 yrs.

It’s a voluntary army. This is what they all signed up for. Pretty silly to see people act like anyone who joins is some victim. Everyone knows what they are going in for, and maybe this is a surprise? Most WANT it.
