An LCMS overture to rename secular titles of district presidents and Synod president to bishop was struck down by the LCMS Floor Committee, preventing it from coming to a convention vote. Notably, the proposal appears to have greater support among younger members of the LCMS.

As someone who has spent a significant amount of time over the last two decades in places where women experiencing this are discussing this…. I will say that Pastor Fiene is absolutely correct. Christian women will jump through exactly the same hoops as seen in the OP to justify aborting their children. Not because they love abortion, but because they believe they are being merciful. They see no valid reason for their child to suffer. We need to become as aggressive as pushing back against “death with dignity” as we are about so many other issues. They are both rooted in the same ideology. This is part of the reason I, personally, continue to quantify myself as pro-life, rather than an abolitionist. There’s a bigger discussion here than many people want to have. And - our conversations around the value of life and death with dignity need to regularly include conversations about children, as painful as that is to contemplate. Children suffer and sometimes even die. We don’t fix that with homicide.

Q: As an adult you run into your elementary school teacher. Do you still refer to them by title (e.g. Ms. Smith)? I do.

Oregon and it’s not even remotely close

@DrJordanBCooper @LaLaLisaCooper I would like to encourage both church bodies to talk about these issues immediately from person to person - not via social media. Please be wise.

It’s HS ⚾️ playoff time! If you’re working the ticket table and see someone walk up with a backpack, pen, stopwatch, & college logo, tell them to enjoy the game and keep working hard. Nobody asked you to pay to work the table, don’t ask us to pay to do our job. Carry on🫡@MSHSL

"Even a theology oriented to the concept of succession, such as that which holds in the Catholic and in the Orthodox church, need not in any way deny the salvation-granting presence (heilschaffende Gegenwart) of the Lord in a Lutheran Lord's Supper." — Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger (Pope Benedict XVI), Briefwechsel von Landesbischof Johannes Hanselmann und Joseph Kardinal Ratzinger über das Amt (1993); also cited in the USCCB document The Church as Koinonia of Salvation, paragraph 107.

"Adoración" cutre neoevangélica vs. Adoración Luterana.
