@tedsrats @jerrrrrrryyyyy A lot of these people are not cut out to be FAANG (or other tech) engineers because their brains are too full of absolutes to understand how to adapt to anything Need to read @Meaningness

this guy in my gaming clan like 15 years ago was staunchly against blowjob porn because "the focus was on the dick" and he'd brought this up multiple times in teamspeak unprompted. i think about it a lot because he'd clearly put a lot of thought into the matter

@appleofwhoseeye @DemonessChara I think that's more of a consequence of a patriarchal society devaluing women. We shouldn't have to depend on porn in the first place to placate these men.

@Danya_Station I have a hard time liking things, but I loved TADC from the first time I saw it, the story is very good. The problem with the show is its short length, many things were left unexplained and there was a lot of material to explore. It really deserved at least a second season tbh.

Is okay to admit that TADC writing isn’t top profesional since Goose admitted she created tadc to test her waters, so don’t expect it to be like some profound complex thing to understand… Tadc might have it flaws but doesn’t mean is less enjoyable. I love the show.

@LeaveHeardAlone I absolutely believe that the PHM group was working in secret. Governments would 100% be limiting the amount of knowledge the public had on astrophage

You can’t say #ProjectHailMary doesn’t have a political message when you know damn well if a space algae was currently eating OUR sun, M*GA would tell you it’s a liberal hoax and put a former Fox Newscaster who thinks the earth is flat in charge of the task force.
August 🌺@Augustine_peony

@CrazyWeeMonkey I don't think it's anti-woke it just doesn't have a political message being shoved down your throat I think that's a reason why it's doing so well at the box office people are tired of being lectured about politics every time they go to the movies from either political side

@DemonessChara There should be a limit to what we sexualize, but porn should still exist as a form of artistic liberty. If we allow porn to be erased, then it is only a matter of time until anything containing erotic elements (which is a very loose term) to also be erased

i’ll never understand people who think ryland should/would go back to earth. eva stratt already spelled it out that he was the perfect candidate for the suicide mission not just bc of his expertise, but bc he doesn’t have any attachments to anyone on earth, not even a dog

@Pinboard Andy Weir has this problem. I am a huge fan, but similarly in The Martian, NASA is seemingly the biggest best most dynamic organization on Earth, and the entire world reorients itself around saving Mark Watney. Uh huh

The most far-fetched part of Project Hail Mary, a science fiction story about teaming up with an alien at Tau Ceti to save Earth from star-eating bacteria, is the idea that Earth governments would unite to rapidly and competently address a global threat

@jmc2016 @Homiedino Except Al-Qassam never went out of its way to harm civilians. You're regurgitating Zionist propaganda and pretending that a literal genocide is the same as Al-Aqsa Flood. Hamas did nothing wrong.

@jaxsballs Given how far off it is, the date and locations (there is no reason for me to believe that this will be exclusive to Cinemark and it’s possible that they are simply the only company that accidentally leaked their deal) are the most flexible parts of the whole thing

"i don't want the finale of an incredibly accessible show to release 2 hours early in a USA exclusive theatre chain" is not an unreasonable take nor is it entitled. how is that entitlement.

@suchnerve Works great in Denmark, instead of a president who could easily be a corrupt shithead, we get a king who is terrified of being deposed at all times and so is incentivized to keep his shit together the best he can.

The only pro-monarchy argument I’ve ever found even a little compelling: a legally powerless monarch serves as a cultural pressure release valve for the human urge to worship larger-than-life symbols which would otherwise be misdirected at the constitution by refusing to amend it
