Irish Nephrology Society continues with excellent macro overviews of renal services for Ireland. First Colm Henry @CcoHse covers the opportunities the new Human Tissue Act 2024 brings huge opportunities but making this operational in the general challenges of an always under pressure HSE is the crux. Then Joe Eustace, incoming Lead for National Renal Office, shows the inexorable rise in demand & cost for hospital based Haemodialysis. Both emphasize that change is needed with more preventive strategies upstream & more transplantation downstream.
