@TheRealJChubby No, I don't imagine that the New York Times finds it pertinent to say that the president of Cuba, the Cuban Government and the Cuban Military are one entity because everyone who isn't as dumb as you could infer that with context clues.

You'll never see the New York Times write an article like this talking about Palantir and Lockheed Martin.

11 May 1988. Pro-Soviet spy Kim Philby died (aged 76). In 1963 he was revealed to be a member of the Cambridge 5, a spy ring which passed information to the Soviet Union during World War 2. Of the 5 spies, Philby is believed to have been most successful in providing secrets.

@Argongus1 @Wangenstein @guychristensen_ Cuba hasn't received fuel shipments in over 3 months. They are always having blackouts. How are they supposed to have remaining reserves when they have to constantly use those reserves?

An account from the New Yorker of snipers playing a key role in provoking the Arab Spring protests in Tunisia in 2011. If the Tunisian government dispatched the snipers to blow protestors' brains out, why is it that snipers also appeared, as if like clock work, in Egypt, Libya, Yemen, and then Syria after Bin Ali was successfully deposed? Why did snipers appear in the Maidan protests in Kiev three years later, 2014? Why do you think we saw protesters and security forces being killed in Iran in January, and Trump using the deaths as a pretext to threaten a new bombing campaign? For full details read my article, 'The Role of Snipers in the Arab Spring and Maidan Protests,' in the next post:

@Egreigious @axios I think the headline literally means "not sanctioned", not "UN sanctions". Confusing headline.

@axios There are no UN Security Council sanctions on Venezuela, its oil sector, PDVSA, or oil tankers. Shame on Axios for covering up US piracy.

@ELAULLIDO1 @ProletariaClase The wealthiest Soviet leader was Gorbachev, because he destroyed the Soviet Union (so that corrupt politicians could be corrupt without constraint).

@ELAULLIDO1 @ProletariaClase No they actually had less income and wealth inequality than basically everywhere else. Who were the so called elites in the Soviet Union and how did they live? Their lives weren't much more "opulent" than labor aristocrats in most places. What, they got to buy a nicer Lada?
