Chris Jones’ 17-game average pace for sacks during his career is 9.6.
Not sure if it’s due to comparing Chris to Aaron Donald (the GOAT) or to Derrick Thomas (completely different position/archetype), but sack expectations from Jones critics have never been rooted in reality. Especially when you consider that he’s never played on loaded defensive lines or a truly dominant defense. Both Sapp and Randle, for example. had better surrounding talent on D. Now, maybe that washes out with more pass attempts nowadays, but at worst he’s in a comparable situation.
