Just screaming into the void from my little account. All em dashes are mine. Rule #1: Don’t be a dick. Rule #2: Breakfast is whatever you want it to be

I’m convinced mockery is the best weapon and we’re just not using it enough.

I always preferred the English spelling of "diarrhea" which is "diarrhoea" because it really looks like you've lost control of your vowels.

In the early 90s I was at a car boot sale and I sold an unused egg whisk to TV star Bob Carolgees for £1. He was happy, I was happy. Pretty much a good day all round.

@TheAuthorGuy This reminds me that I learned what 86’d meant when I got my first restaurant job in 1987 and naturally thought that the term would change to 87’d in 1988. I was young and dumb. In any case, we ran out of onion rings.

This short excerpt from my 1999 novel, The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove: Mavis helped the man to a bar stool. “Get her out of here,” Mavis said. “She’s eighty-sixed. This time forever.” Theo kept his eyes locked on Molly’s. “Are you okay?”

Apparently it’s a hot take on here but I don’t get the Savannah bananas hate. It’s obviously fun, people enjoy it, it’s not like it’s trying to rip off baseball, it’s never claimed that. Simply a fun thing to do, like the globetrotters.

I briefly went to boarding school (the same one Uma Thurman briefly went to - but I digress), and in the student handbook it clearly stated: No tree climbing, except as an organized activity. Well, I was always happiest in a tree with books or a friend. I’d often suggest as we sat on the common: Let’s climb a tree. And we would. One day, as 7 or 8 of us were chatting in a very large willow, a dorm mother came by and said: No climbing trees, except as an organized activity! Spencer just looked at her and said: But it is organized. Corbie always organizes it. This seemed to satisfy her and no one ever challenged us again.

Lego is overpriced. I can buy almost identical stuff from China for around a quarter of the price. I really doubt those extra microns of accuracy that Lego has is really worth the four-fold price increase.

@joshthetree_ I was dumbfounded-and not in a good way-when I first heard/saw it back in 1991. I was a recently-hatched U2 fan at the time, having been wooed by the whole Joshua Tree era. Wanted more of that. I was woefully wrong. The Fly was great then and remains great now. Even better live.

@bryan_onymous @20th_Centurygal Your answer to the question is “fascinatingly correct” in regards to mentioning “Red Hill Mining Town.” Bono sings about the “lights go out on Red Hill,” and “Red Hill Town,” never is it said “Red Hill Mining Town. …U2 fan since seeing them at The Hollywood Palladium, 1982.
