We are TERRIBLE at estimating how long a task will take. On average, it takes TRIPLE the time we think it will. How do we get better at estimating? 👇👇

@adoseofjohn @Haris1728 @mikeryanretail @hammer_mt It’s easy to know what competitors do. And not that useful. It’s hard to know what works. If your competitors can help you figure out what works, and that is a fit for you. Do it. And focus your creativity elsewhere.

@Haris1728 @mikeryanretail discussed this exact topic with @glusman - S4 Ep3. Literally about to export that clip later tonight. But worth a listen because he's released a similar product on the market. And put your point to him. His answer is solid. Same goes for the ep with @hammer_mt RE memetics

You can now spy on your competitors' Google ads. For FREE! Search, display, video. It's a memetics boon. But, do they know what they're doing in the first place? Are they optimizing for a commercial objective. Or vanity? Choose and use wisely. adstransparency.google.com

@excapite @adoseofjohn Lol. It was the first online ad agency (i-traffic). It focused on getting traffic and customers to your website. There were plenty of folks doing cdroms and things of that sort at the time. They were super cool. Many of the best people I've worked with.

@adoseofjohn @glusman The work we did in 1992 at ICAM for Sheraton ITC became the blueprint for the online hotel booking systems While the QTVR shopping centre we build at IDO in 1994 for David Jones is only starting to reemerge in the form of the metaverse Then the Forex brokerages… Early days :)

Who worked at the world's first digital agency? This guy did - @glusman - and his career story is fascinating. Culminating in an exec role at Meetup and known for being the OG of the lean startup/experimentation method in tech.

People who have done the work and been directly responsible for the outcome - "Details really matter" People who have supervised the work and not been directly responsible for the outcome - "You need to be a big-picture thinker and not get bogged down in the detail"
