Neuroscience bits from my research Principles of perception in the visual cortex I believe that visual perception in the brain is governed by a handful of simple but powerful principles. The visual cortex processes discrete signals (spikes) emitted by edge movement detectors in the retina. The human retina can detect movements in 10 orientations and 20 directions (2 per orientation). An edge is the contrast or difference in luminance between adjacent pixels. Keep in mind that your eyes are always moving using tiny involuntary jumps called microsaccades. This is true even if you are fixating your gaze at a single point. The most important principle of perceptual learning is the precise timing of discrete sensory signals. It is used by all the sensory modalities. So far, I have identified three perceptual principles used by the visual cortex. I only list two below because I haven't tested the third one yet. I believe there may be one additional principle, two at the most. 1. Nothing can move in more than one direction at the same time. 2. Percepts compete for the visual space. There is no sharing. No more than one percept can access a visual area at one time. Winner takes all. The first principle is self-explanatory. However, I can't reveal how it works in my model of the visual cortex at this time. Sorry. The second one is just as powerful as the first. It can be easily demonstrated with the spinning dancer animation shown below. The dancer in the middle can be observed to spin either clockwise or counter-clockwise. Your visual cortex will not allow you to see both at the same time because that would violate the second principle. You can change the spin direction of the middle dancer by glancing briefly at the left or right dancer. This induces a competitive bias for one direction or the other. Note. I hypothesize that the massive feedback pathways observed in the visual cortex are needed to enforce the second principle. More: x.com/TrueAIHound/st…

The plan is simple: 1. Build cool shit on Solana 2. Tell people about it Repeat forever

Millionaire trader Ethan Prosper just proved memecoins are the ultimate cheat code He made $117 profit in 2 hours; that’s $58.50 an hour sitting at his PC. That’s the hourly rate of a lawyer, doctor, or truck driver… except they spent years grinding degrees and licenses. Only in memecoins 🔥

best country in Europe for summer this year? need some gems

+$280k in may, roughly about 20-40k in losses to realise though. Super happy on the month, maybe the last month for a bit where i can trade so much, have some important stuff + shitty exams coming up throughout summer, but grateful to have such an insane year so far. 6 figs+ always the target
