🇬🇧🇺🇸 King Charles to President Trump:
"You recently commented…if it were not for the United States, European countries would be speaking German."
"If it wasn't for us, you'd be speaking French."
@cute_patoot_ua@ChiemelaChimao1@CameronCM1145@ocelotltx@BRICSinfo Who’s to say the US would even exist if such a historical event change took place? Or is that too complicated for you to fathom? Domino effect. One historical change can lead to a vast change in history.
@sefferson23@ocelotltx@BRICSinfo I’m well aware, but you people are too hollow minded to realize that such a historical event change may have lead to the US not existing at all. Would it be American history anymore in that case?
@j_debkowski@ocelotltx@BRICSinfo Look up The French and Indian War. See also, the 7 Years War. American History, pretty cool shit really if you give it a whirl
@j_debkowski@collationnet@ocelotltx@BRICSinfo You’re not a clever or educated as you think you are. Maybe in another 40 years of reading history, not just the school boy stuff you were fed.
@solshine_nft@CameronCM1145@ocelotltx@BRICSinfo Statistics say Russia may have eventually beaten Germany but if you remove other factors like lend lease which provided a ton of coats and boots for Russian soldiers, remove the oil embargo on Japan and Japan may have started a two front war. Domino effect in hypotheticals.
@j_debkowski@CameronCM1145@ocelotltx@BRICSinfo It's not perfect but it is a fair comparison since the UK won the Battle of Britain on its own and Hitler had given up trying to invade by the time the US showed up in WW2, so saying we'd be speaking German is purely hypothetical especially since Russia would have beaten Germany.
@j_debkowski@CameronCM1145@ocelotltx@BRICSinfo He focused on only the language for a reason. He didn’t say via war. Their influence as hegemon at the time being the main reason America speak English is enough reason to make his point to valid.
@jaredwmac@ocelotltx@BRICSinfo Bro what you people don’t get is the domino theory. Likely, if that took place the USA wouldn’t ever exist . You want to see how a French colony looks? Look at Haiti, or French indochina. Shit is cooked
@ShethranS@ocelotltx@BRICSinfo US likely would have never became a country if the French won the French Indian war. Basic domino theory you idiot. You wanna see what happens to French old colonies? Look at Haiti. Then look at Anglo colonies they’re flourishing
@ASLismyReligion@collationnet@ocelotltx@BRICSinfo This is just a common cope European argument in response to American gloating about WW2. USSR almost got wiped, received lend lease; and the US bore the brunt of the Pacific theater of WW2 . There were two real player in WW2. US and USSR. Rest are mid, bums, or conquered by 🇩🇪
@j_debkowski@collationnet@ocelotltx@BRICSinfo History knows America loves taking credit for other people's work. Russians were the first to liberate Europe from the Germans, not the united states!
The US only entered after the Russians took mass casualties and paved the way for other countries to join the fray!
@ASLismyReligion@collationnet@ocelotltx@BRICSinfo You love to ignore context, did the Russians tell you that they were being slutted out with lend lease supplies from America? Or did they tell you that the US essentially saved the USSR from a 2 front war by starving the Japanese of oil?
@CameronCM1145@ocelotltx@BRICSinfo That’s true, but it’s still not a perfect comparison. The United States as a nation didn’t exist yet and it wouldn’t for some time with those wars. Germany was knocking on Britain’s door in WW2 to conquer. Churchill knew what it was and he begged US to get involved.
@j_debkowski@ocelotltx@BRICSinfo Britain and France were rival colonial powers fighting for control of the continent. The British ultimately won those struggles, which is why the dominant language and cultural foundation of the United States became English, not French.
