This was King Charles III finest hour. His address to Congress was witty, clever, cultured and touched the most important issues facing both our nations. Countless standing ovations and rounds of applause. The value of our monarchy is truly priceless. God Save the King 🇬🇧

Brilliant, bold and challenging address by King Charles to the U.S. Congress which was (very unusually!) united in regular standing ovations. The best speech of his life, right when his country needed him to step up and repair the Special Relationship. Bravo, Your Majesty! 🇬🇧 🇺🇸

@ak_hiker @NEWSMAX This is being taken far too literally. King Charles wasn’t making a serious historical claim that Britain “saved America from the French” as a factual, standalone statement. It was clearly rhetorical and tongue-in-cheek.

@CameronCM1145 @NEWSMAX There's nothing anywhere about "shaping foundations" Charles made a baseless attempt to claim England saved America from the French. Nothing more, nothing less Fact remains, US rescued England every time they asked. The one time we asked them to stand as an ally, they cowered

@ak_hiker @NEWSMAX If Britain decided to launchd a strike on Russia to eliminate its nuclear capability, would the United States be obliged to come to Britain’s? Of course not — and rightly so. NATO's designed around collective defence, not support for offensive wars chosen by individual members.

@ak_hiker @NEWSMAX The key difference with Iran is that this isn’t a defensive war — it’s an offensive or pre-emptive action, depending on your interpretation.

@ak_hiker @NEWSMAX If the early American colonies had been established under French control, it’s not hard to see which culture would have most strongly shaped the foundations of the United States.

@NEWSMAX Ridiculous nonsense The US saved England from losing TWO world wars The French and Indian war occurred before America even existed In fact, the one time we asked England to step up as an ally, they refused

@j_debkowski @ocelotltx @BRICSinfo Britain and France were rival colonial powers fighting for control of the continent. The British ultimately won those struggles, which is why the dominant language and cultural foundation of the United States became English, not French.

@ocelotltx @BRICSinfo Yeah the comparison is stupid. How would the US end up speaking French? France has essentially been a US ally for all the time we’ve existed as a nation. While Germany was actively attempting to invade and conquer England. How does that comparison even make sense?

@homerepaired @mousseman @genocidalgirl I initially thought that. But if you look at the speed (in the top right) and how quickly it drops a 0:48 seconds, he is clearly trying to stop the vehicle after obviously massively misjudging the stopping distance. I'm just astounded by how terrible the driving was.

@mousseman @genocidalgirl Maybe but driver doesn't look like he is attempting to stop the truck in any way. I would think that if we're hitting the brake and nothing were happening he'd be a little more frantic.

Some are confused why he didn’t do anything but that’s because they don’t understand what a 70 IQ does behind the wheel and that it can’t make decisions or calculations. It just goes straight.

@narindertweets I thought these kids will be voting at the next election thanks to Starmer? Some people forget those whom are 13 today will be 16 at the time of the next election and therefore eligible to vote. And you want to shut them out of the political process until they make that vote.

@Jhc010 @Mark08590993848 @WillColeshill @FindoutnowUK I would suggest that you are, if you genuinely think that Restore has any chance of winning the next election. They are far too to extreme a position. The voters whom will vote for them are prob the same core of people whom voted UKIP pre 2010.

@jakelchambers @ZiaYusufUK I don’t think anyone said they were likely to win those seats. They definitely said they stood a chance to win it but it was certainly acknowledged/ portrayed that it was going to be a tough battle and could go either way.

Desperate still to smear me & Reform, Sunday Times has again spent weeks pouring over my company accounts with Labour-supporting tax accountant All that effort has revealed overall HMRC received the correct amount of tax due Journo now effectively complaining I paid too much tax rather than company pay some tax on my behalf! All due to complex tax technicality around dividends to certain shareholder classes in REITs But S Times refuses to investigate serious accounting irregularities & possible multi million pound electoral law breaches by Labour Party Properties Ltd, that I exposed Meanwhile, I’ll get on with representing the people of Boston &Skegness & campaigning to kick out this dreadful government

@FlackJimmmy @Saint_Gerrard @PolitlcsUK The Conservative Party has always had different ideological strands, and Reform seems to represent a more specific one — lower taxes, tighter immigration, stronger sovereignty. A lot of voters from that wing have shifted, so it’s more about giving that outlook a clearer voice.

@FlackJimmmy @Saint_Gerrard @PolitlcsUK If people with significant capital are backing Reform UK, it suggests confidence in those policies as more business-friendly and pro-growth. Investors back environments they expect to be stable and profitable, so I don’t think it’s unreasonable to see that as a positive signal.
