@deepwebslinger They don’t care because they know when they control the Federal government they’ll just bail out failed blue states, effectively forcing their bad policies on all states.

Intel has been pink slipping over 20,000 workers.... effectively abandoning it's massive 600 acre campuses in Oregon. "Over relegation, cost of living and taxation making it too difficult to keep doing business in the state." Intel investing 25-30 billion, basically relocating it's production to Arizona and Ohio. Oregon is, in effect, losing it's middle class income generation altogether. We are talking billions in annual tax revenues moving out of state. The same is happening in Washington, California, New York, and other liberal states. This is a Liberalism FAFO moment...

NYT frames this as if USAID employees had a quasi-property right to high-paying, taxpayer-funded jobs. In reality, this tells a darker story—we spent half-a-century debt-financing a managerial class of Leftists whose only qualifications were ideological.

"Sheryl Cowan, 57, was making $272,000 a year as a senior VP at a U.S.A.I.D.-funded nonprofit when she was let go at the end of March 2025. Last month she had an online interview for a $19-an-hour job managing a Penzeys Spices store in Falls Church, Va." nytimes.com/2026/04/21/us/…

@JamesSurowiecki Following your argument we should abolish the senate and just have the House of Representatives.

There's no good civic argument for the electoral college. It was arguably necessary to ensure the ratification of the Constitution, but it's an anti-democratic device that gives some American citizens far more voting power than others, based purely on where they live.

@SenWarren This would be so much more credible if you started by saying “we know that there’s at least 30% waste and fraud in government, so we’re gonna start be eliminating that. we will only increase taxes as a last resort.”

Perhaps my favorite Supreme Court exchange in recent memory: Solicitor general: “It’s a new world." John Roberts: "It's a new world. It's the same Constitution." Into my veins 😌

For the record, all the Red Hen did was change its name to ZunZun. Same owners. Same ridiculous intolerance.
Selene Mariposa@Selene_Mariposa

A croissant shop in Little Rock just asked the Governor of Arkansas to leave because her presence made employees feel “uncomfortable.” She was having lunch with two other moms. She had already eaten. Already paid. Already tipped. And they still asked her to leave. Then as she stood to go, someone shouted at her group and made an obscene hand gesture in her direction . The “party of tolerance” strikes again. Here’s the thing. They have every right to refuse service. This is America. Private businesses can make their own decisions. But decisions have consequences. Ask the owners of The Red Hen how this works. In 2018, The Red Hen in Virginia kicked Sarah Huckabee Sanders out while she was still eating because the owner opposed the Trump administration . The Red Hen closed in late 2023 . The Croissanterie has every right to ask the governor to leave. And every customer in Arkansas has every right to never walk through that door again. When did we, in America — the home of capitalism, the birthplace of “the customer is always right” — decide that the smartest business strategy is to alienate half your potential customers over politics? You run a croissant shop. You sell pastries and lattes. Nobody walked in asking for your political position on the LEARNS Act. They wanted a croissant. And instead of selling them one, you turned your bakery into a political statement. They’re already getting destroyed on Yelp . The Red Hen learned this lesson the hard way. The Croissanterie is about to learn it the same way. You have the right to refuse service. You also have the right to go out of business. The market doesn’t care about your feelings either. 🦋

t.co/CfrJFCK2hZ Flashback: UN’s reputation got completely destroyed by Argentine President Milei during his speech at the general assembly: “[…] At a certain point, this organization stopped upholding the principles outlined in its founding declaration […] In this very house that claims to protect human rights, they have allowed the entry of bloody dictatorships, such as those of Cuba and Venezuela, without the slightest reproach […] In this very house that claims to defend the rights of women, it allows countries that punish their women for showing skin to join the committee for the elimination of discrimination against women […] In this very house, there is a systemic voting pattern against the State of Israel, which is the only country in the Middle East that defends liberal democracy, while simultaneously demonstrating a total inability to respond to terrorism.”

@LarrySabato Excellent . In 20,years we’ll have $38 trillion in debt again because we won’t have addressed the actual issue - government is too big and wastes enormous amounts of money. It’s just a fact that we have a spending problem, not too little taxation.

Some radicals want to seize the billionaires' $55.8 trillion in assets. That's wrong. Let's just take $37 trillion of it and wipe out the national debt. That leaves $18 trillion for the 900 of them--far more than enough to satisfy all but the greediest.
Peter Baker@peterbakernyt

The richest Americans saw their net worth soar 120% from 2017-25 and the number of US billionaires jumped 50% to more than 900. Overall, the top 1% now control $55.8 trillion in assets — more than the GDP of the US and China combined. @ktbenner nytimes.com/2026/03/02/us/…

Bill Clinton: “Palestinians were offered a state on the entire West Bank and east Jerusalem as its capital. Israel accepted, but Palestinians refused. They did not care about a homeland for the Palestinians. All they wanted was to kill Israelis" This must be shared every day.
